I have many issues, but the biggest one is that this school doesn't provide a diploma. it was suggested that my son take a GED test to get a diploma??????Stay away, this school is a joke. What kind of accredited school would be unable to provide a diploma??

Amazing School! Way better than the schools i have gone too. It has very nice teachers that help with any problems you have. Very nice curriculum.

I cannot speak highly enough of FLVS (Flex). My daughter enrolled to take the Spanish high school course while she was in middle school because she wanted to get ahead.I enrolled her last June. She was assigned an amazing teacher. She completed Spanish 1 in 3 months (Yes, she was working at an accelerated pace even though she had 32 weeks to finish it). She took 1 month break, and then I enrolled her in SPanish 2. Same great experience with another teacher. They respond to texts pretty quickly. If she has any question, they are always ready to answer. The teachers communicate with the parents about the student performance.Thank you FLVS Flex for offering this to our students!

My experience was terrible! Granted the teachers are nice and caring but the whole “work at your own pace thing” is a LIE because when you do the DBA’s you have to wait for them to respond back to you to call with them and do them and that takes up so much time that you can’t move on and they throw questions at you that THEY didn’t even teach! I can rarely enjoy my personal life with my mom CONSTANTLY asking “how many assignments have you done”. I do not recommend this for ANYONES kid this is very unmotivated, unhealthy, can make your kid depressed ESPECIALLY for kids with ADHD.

Awful. As a homeschooler I though it would be good for my kindergarten to be in touch with a teacher. The program is not strong enough so we are not in the pace as we’ve been working with another resources to be able to have her reading soon. Of course she’s bot being taught to write as it is a 1st grade goal. Even not being taught to write she got an 50% grade (until now she was only 100% except for one 80% in a quiz) because I wrote for her a ling sentence that she was supposed to complete. We’ve been doing that since the beginning as write for her to copy looks totally like cheating as it’s not reasonable to expect her to be able to write by this time. But as her original teacher went on a maternity leave the other teacher called me to me asking the assignment to make her pretend that she can write by herself and because I refused to cheat she gave her half of the grade. The program is not academically strong and they change the teachers too often (3 times in this first semester)! Not recommended!!!

My daughter took Lang Arts 1 during the summer using the Flex program. The teacher was great, program was easy to follow and it got her ahead for 6th grade! Flex is an awesome option to get ahead or for homeschooling families.

I signed my son up for one class over the summer. He has been enrolled with Laurel Springs full time for four years, and I wanted to compare the two schools since FLVS is free to FL residents. We dropped the course after two weeks. Our experience is as follows:1. Signing up for FLVS was a hassle. It took 3/4 of my day on the phone talking to tech support.2. The FLVS site stated that if I sent a counselor my son's transcript they could suggest a full schedule for him beginning in the fall. I heard back from another counselor that the woman who was assigned to my district was out of town and would return my email when she got back......I'm still waiting!3. You have to make an online appointment to speak to the teacher before you are allowed to start your class (which took a week). I feel that anyone who homeschools should be given the option to email or call as to not hold the class up for the student.4. We were told by the teacher that my son was required to complete 4 lessons a week. I asked if he would be allowed to complete 8 lessons a week and take off the following week. I was told that he would still be required to complete another 4 lessons the following week unless we asked permission, ahead of time, to take a 1 week vacation that is allowed per semester. Not really "flexible" in my option.5. My son and I both agree that the website is very confusing. It seems that it could be better organized, and less nonsense; the log-on takes you through multiple pages before you get to your class. Seems to be designed for a 1st grader with all the colors, drawings, and shapes thrown on the web page. Its overloaded with nonsense!6. My son felt the instructions for the assignments were confusing. He felt the lessons were a disorganized mess. 7. During our two weeks at FLVS the website was down for over 48 hours (understand my son is still liable for his 4 lessons a week).8. I only wanted to sign my son up for one semester, but was forced to take two semesters.9. The only good thing we can say about FLVS is the teacher. She was really nice and helpful; her bio on FLVS listed another teacher (sad that FLVS didn't update this prior to hiring her). 10. Thanks FLVS for helping us to the make the decision to continue with Laurel Springs Academy in the fall!

Elementary. Not tailored to the student. Push push the busy work, irrelevant busywork.Doesn't move at the student's pace, nor teach to the student's ability level.Talking to the administrators is a complete waste of time. The website is PURE RUBBISH they should be ashamed (are these sort of people EVER ashamed? ...for the children...for the children...)FLVS has been a complete waste of time and huge source of additional stress (we all need more right?)FLVS doesn't rate well from their employees either, look at "indeed" reviews.

***WARNING***STAY AWAY, I do not advise anybody enroll their teenager in Florida Virtual School, unless you enjoy stress, worry, tension, hassle, fear, and agony! Their website is full of I.T. flaws in the programming-- (Posting assignments--getting proof you turned things in. The layout is terrible and the website was horribly designed. Assignments and lessons are spread out oddly, logging in is a hassle, the assignments are not built around being online (they insist you upload assignments separately rather than have it directly feed in through the lessons), and the third-party lessons are awkwardly integrated. the tutorials for using it are outdated and no longer apply, instructions for use everywhere contradict themselves. The teachers are hard to get a hold of and they make up their own procedures even though they claim to use the proper curriculum. The workload is incredible, and none of this material is taught in public schools. This website may look professional but its really just to cover up it's horrible moderation and how the school works. I withdrew my Child after 2 weeks, this school is a joke, they try hard to trick Parents into believing that it's great, well it's not, most horrible experience I have ever had with any school! I would give it a zero if I could!

FLVS is great at promising but...does not follow through. They say their mission is to help each student maximize his or her potential and meet the highest performance standards through a uniquely individualized learning program. Well I am telling you...no they do not. My student was enrolled in art and a language, received the supplies & then all of a sudden they were removed from her agenda as soon as school was going to start. No one contacted me. As soon as I can get this student signed up at another school where she can take other subjects besides Math, Language, Science & History, this student will be gone. They lost money that they had been given so now they let teachers go and are not giving their students choices for electives. Only one of the teachers have contacted me...the others have not even attempted even if we were told they would do it the first week. Here it is week 6. Assignments do not get graded in a timely fashion. They are suppose to be graded within 24 hrs. We are still waiting for some to be graded and its been weeks. Yes, I said weeks.
