Good students, not so good student care. old school had 1 hour total break time, this one has 40 minutes. divided by 7, the amount of classes per day, you get 5.7 minutes of break per 45 minute class. It's students act cheery, then flip a switch when not in camera or teacher view. It's incredible how well they hide it. unlike my old school where students willingly helped, they have to force the kids. elementary kids have one class forced to clean everyone's mess. and to top it off... they made me atheist. broke me in 5th grade.

We enrolled our son this school year once it was apparent that the public schools had no intentions of opening back up for in-person learning. This was the best decision ever. We picked Ontario Christian because it was highly recommended by our friends and because the school is well known throughout the local communities. The school was welcoming from the first day. The front Office staff and Admin team are extremely professional. Best of all are the teachers that teach here. The teachers are always positive, friendly, and genuinely care about the students. My son is thriving academically, socially and loves the Christian based environment. My son looks forward to school everyday and is being taught a complete/years worth of curriculum. We could not be any happier with our decision and feel truly blessed to be part of such an amazing school.

My children have attended Ontario Christian since pre-school. One thing I have always appreciated is how accessible the administration and the teachers have been, especially this past year while we were all navigating such new scenarios. My children have developed life-long friendships here, and that has extended to myself and my husband as well. You won't ever feel like just another number at OC, because they have built a true community.

Overall it’s not that bad when it comes to homework. When they assign things the day it’s due, it’s pretty annoying. The problem is the teachers. If you’re looking for diverse, kind teachers, you won’t find them. As far as I know, there is a grand total of 2 black staff in the school. Additionally, there is LGBTQ+ discrimination in the kids. Due to the nature of the curriculum they make you learn, a large percentage of people I know have turned atheist. There’s a pipe in the back of the school and there are swastikas on them. Tuition is kinda ridiculous, I’m surprised my family was even able to pay for it. As soon as this school year ends I’m definitely getting out of here. I came into this school Christian and came out agnostic. My Bible teacher asks many personal things on the questions (this may be due to the curriculum, which I desperately hope changes) and says it’s a reflection, instead of a confession. They’re the same thing, in my opinion. Tip - if you’re uncomfortable with lying to anyone, including your teachers, this school is not for you. There are a lot of lies going around. Here’s an explanation for each of my individual ratings.Homework - Eh. Sometimes it isn’t too hard but when you have all these subjects, you can expect yourself to stay up late. Teachers - Generally, they’re boring and the subjects they teach are a little hard to understand. Again, this may be the fault of the curriculum.Leadership - What leadership? Everyone works on their own here in their own groups. Every man for himself.Character - No. I had a teacher in 6th grade that everyone badmouthed behind their back. No respect there.Learning Differences - I’ll give it to them, they did this right. Special needs kids are cared for here and have no problem fitting among the other students. At least, in my experience. Bullying - There are a few bad apples, but the most I’ve been called by fellow peers is a weirdo. There are some extremes, like going after family. Other than that, it was okay.To summarize, it’s... okay. Was the cause of some of my worst mental breakdowns, but it’s okay otherwise.

If I could give no stars, I would.My daughter is in the second grade and has been going here since Pre-K and recently she's been experiencing some bullying going on and I've contacted the teacher, the counselor, the principal and the ladies in the office and they don't care to do anything about it. I threatened to remove my daughter out of their school because of how they're approaching the situation and they had no care about it whatsoever. So, I don't recommend sending your children here if you want them to be safe because this clearly isn't a goal of the elementary schools. The principal Mr. Fakkema is by far the worst. He is so insensitive and careless, it's sickening. He never offers a solution and still assumes to get paid for not even doing his job. Disgusting. I'm so besides myself with these people. The ladies in the front though are great with my daughter. They love her like one of their own. I can't say enough about the two. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and money with these people.

During the current COVID 19 pandemic the school is not freezing tuition. They arent even discounting tuition. They want their full tuition while parents homeschool (with assignments from teachers). If you ask the school to stop your tuition (given the fact that we are in a pandemic and people can hardly pay their rent and mortgage) the school is charging a $250 fee to stop your tuition payments. This should be AGAINST THE LAW! If a parent needs their tuition to stop temporarily it likely means they can not afford to pay give the state of the economy. Just like it's against the law to charge a fee to someone that can not pay rent and utilities and other companies are offering deferred payments this school is angering so many parents in desperate times. Parents that will likely return to the school later. I will be withdrawing my son even though he has been here for years. Many parents feel pressure to pay but they are unhappy that the school isnt offering any relief at all.

My siblings and I attended a private Christian school as children and we loved the OVERALL environment. The small classes and the one-on-one and overall attentiveness of the teachers and staff. The values and morals instilled at OCS are simply incomparable and are so similar to what we were taught growing up with a Christian education and in a Christian home. Being kind, treating others with respect and how you wish to be treated, loving your fellow mates, praising God daily and every night, and always putting God 1st.This school isn't just a school, it's a family. My niece has been here since kindergarten and just started 3rd grade and we couldn't have chosen a better "home" for her. The curriculum is unsurpassable. The kids rotate between their main teacher, language class, music, art and p.e. Their graduation percentage and college attendance is astounding. They teach the children to be honest, individual, creative thinkers. All things most schools don't offer until well AFTER elementary. They challenge the kids and they never feel defeated. They KNOW there is a next time & also are aware that they can't take that "next time" for granted.The entire office staff are the most kind and beautiful hearted people I've ever encountered. They are kind, endearing, very engaging and simply a blessing to have them in my nieces life. You'd really have to step onto this campus to get the warm feeling I'm trying to convey to see for yourself. It really and TRULY is a home away from home for the kids. Thank God for OCS.

My child started this school with very low self esteem. The teachers have helped her get acclimated. The students have reached out to her. I see huge improvements with her. The academics are good. The teachers got it together. This is a well organized school. I'm glad we are here.

Ontario Christian has a genuine feel for excelling students academically, as well as, growing them in a relationship with Jesus Christ. The staff, from the Principal, down to the Janitors, love what they do and do what they love, well!! I am constantly reminded, as I walk the halls of this school, as to why we send both of our children there. The atmosphere is warm, where everyone seems to be on the same page!

In my opinion, this is the best School in the area where you can bring your kid from pre k all the way to high school. Not to mention that your kids will receive a much needed Christian education. The academic program is rigorous and based on testing results the school grade is above all other schools. The campus is always clean and kids are just safe. Everyone is dedicated to the kids, most of all the principal Mr. Wiersma who always welcomes every kid every morning with a smile and incredibly knows them all by name. The tuition is well worth bringing your kids here.

Great teachers. Rigorous academic program. The classes offered are diverse. Kids have different teachers for PE, music, Spanish, art, computers.

I deeply appreciate the community that we joined at OCS. My daughter has been there three years and is thriving. Her love for Christ and Christian character is developing more each year. Regardless of the multitude of teacher personalities, each one we've encountered has shown love to our daughter and is approachable. I've been welcomed as a volunteer in the classroom and in special events. I assume some of the negativity is based on isolated student experiences which had a hard time with structure and ownership in the role he/she played in their time at OCS. Our family's experience with administration, staff, and other families makes us feel like we're plugged into the community of Christ.

Our daughter has been going to Ontario Christian since first grade (now in 5th). Ontario Christian has lived up to all that was promised and more. Academics are cutting edge with just the right balance of activities(music, band, art & Spanish). Their motto is Growing Christian Leaders, I think it should also say growing christian parents:) What I have witnessed in the past few years is my daughter truly becoming an example of Gods principals. Her love and knowledge of the Lord is such a testimony to her father and I. She often reminds us what the Lord requires of us! OC is an amazing school and we are blessed to be a part of it!!

I attended this school from 1st to 8th grade and am currently a senior at a public high school. OC was a place full of hypocrites; the students constantly berated others on their socioeconomic & racial status. And their minds were so constricted by what their parents & this school force-fed them; it's amazing how much I've grown as a young adult and a participant of society by leaving the school. In terms of my education, there is a clear disparity between this school, other private schools, and public schools. Although I was valedictorian, part of the GATE program, and a successful student at OC, my qualifications did not entirely carry on into high school because of the lack of preparation I received. And I cannot say this school is what "made me smart," rather it was how my parents and family raised me. The best thing I can say about OC is that it was the catalyst behind my desire to become a better person since the school provided examples of what NOT to be. If you want to burn your money, then send your child here. If you want to raise a close-minded child, please enroll them here. My friend and I both are extremely grateful for leaving OC as seen in her review.

My two children have attended OC for 4 years and I have been extremely happy with the education they are receiving. The well roundedness of the spubjects they are exposed to is what I am most impressed with. My kids have been exposed to weekly chapel, computers, art, music, library, bible, math, reading, language arts, PE, and began spanish in 2nd grade. Looking forward to choir and band in the upper grades, all while being taught Christian principles from Christ loving teahers! The class sizes are small and there are multiple classes per grade, making the size of the school a desirable one. To say the school is perfect in every way would be impossible, there are always a few kids who can misbehave and seem to antagonize kids (referring to previous comment about bullying), but this is reality, I can say there are much less of this than I would see at the local public school. Overall we are pleased we have chosen OC for our kids and look forward to continuing at this school through 12th grade!

I love this school! My daughter is finishing 7th grade and is doing well academically and spiritually. She does have a lot of homework, but manages quite well. She also plays in the band and has done so since 5th grade. I don't understand how others can say this school is a waste of money...I have compared my daughter's homework to some of my public school friends and she is doing the same level work but she is excelling. She enjoys Chapel and building her relationship with Christ. The teachers care very much and her self-confidence has blossomed this year. She has never been bullied or harassed and has friends that are very sweet. It is nice to get to know so many parents and everyone has always been friendly to us.

It is perplexing to hear so many discouraging remarks about OCC. My daugher began OCC at three years of age. She is not getting ready to graduate from kindergarten. My daughter is extremely bright and verbalizes words far beyond her five years of age. She is reading and has a good understanding of Phonics. My daugther is also adding and substracting. I agree with OCC motto of building strong christian leaders. My daughter quotes many Bible verses. She enjoys chapel and cries when she is not able to attend church on Sunday's. OCC is enforcing the spiritual and moral values that we are teaching my daughter at home. I do empathize with the student who states that she is/was being bullied. I believe that type of behavior should not occuror be tolerated in any school. I hope that the leadersof the school are looking into that matter seriously. I also hope that you have parents you feel you can confide in. Please do not give up on this school.

Ontario Christian is by far, the best Christian school in the area. I've noticed that most parents that send their kids here are very involved. The teachers are very approachable and in tune with all parts of the child - from academic to social. OC also offers many "extras" that the kids are invovled in like computers, art, music, PE, spanish, and library. Yes, the school is definitely an investment, but it's worth it.
