Adams Elementary was great when my kid started. In the last 2 years, everything has gone down hill. The school does not have enough teachers for the students. Each grade has 2 classes of about 18-20 kids with the exception of 4th grade where there is only one teacher. Because of this, the students that are independent learners are in a classroom with 5th graders and the one 4th grade class is large and most of the kids require attention that they are not receiving. Many of the children have behavioral issues and when visiting you will see many sitting by the office as they have had to be removed from the class. The staff does what they can to help all the kids but do not have the capacity to provide the necessary attention that is required. Parents of children at this school tend to not hold their children accountable for their actions and instead will call and yell at the teachers and administration. My child has fallen so far behind because they are being bullied by other children and struggles to keep up in class because they are not getting the help necessary.

I am an alum from this school and I am aware a lot has changed over the last few years as I have a little sister who attended there not to long ago but I still think this school gives great character for students and sets them up for success in the future. All of my college applications/essays involved me talking about Adams and the amazing memories I created at this school. I highly recommend it and hope my future kids will attend here.

Great years ago, not so much now with the current principal. The teachers do what they can but without support from the admin/principal they can only do so much. I've had kids in Adams for years, and have watched the school go downhill over the last several. My perspective is the lack of leadership and administration is only worried about themselves and not the teachers/kids at all. If your a principal then be the authority figure, not everyones 'buddy'. Principal is WAY overpaid for what little he does, has driven the younger good teachers away and kept the ones that don't question his authority or methods. This would be a good school for the new OPS superintendent to review and revamp if there is any hope of salvaging what was once a great school.

Have been very happy with this school. Principal and teachers are great. Never had a problem at this school as i have had problems at other schools. You will not regret sending your kids here!

My son loves this school!!! The principal is absolutely amazing! The teachers are very involved and the parents are always there supporting the school functions. I love that its a smaller public school so my son gets the diversity but isnt overwhelmed with so many children

we had four children go through Adams. The majority of the teachers were excellent, and overall the staff is very caring. There is quite a bit of diversity, and my children benefited from that. The counselor and speech therapist worked hard with me for one of my children. Great small community feel and impressive parent involvement level
