I have a child who has attended Edison for half of a semester in the 22-23 school year. As well as a part of the 23-24 school year, however after the incident that I had with the current principal I will be pulling my child. I have never seen a more vindictive and petty individual that runs a school. I understand her having issues with parents but to have an issue with a child is ridiculous and un-called for. My child may have picked up a few things from this school but beyond that. There are fights between 4th graders and kindergartners, they do not protect the little ones the way that they should. They do not listen to parents, mostly because they don’t have too!! I’m over Edison and can say that I have it all I had!

As a parent whose children have gone to Edison the past 9 years, I would no longer recommend this school. For my oldest, everything was great. My middle child, not at all. It’s ran like a boot camp. If your child comes into school and picks up on learning new things quickly, by all means, go for it. But once your child struggles, they are a burden. Behavior issues? See ya! My child has felt belittled, unheard, targeted, and shamed from multiple “adults” in that school and unfortunately the principal being #1. Someone who is supposed to be an advocate for her, treats her poorly. I have tried to talk to everyone I could in school, I am never heard. My child even has IEP plan.. would have never known. Such a shame as my elementary school years were the best, I’m sad my child missed out on that opportunity.

This school is OKAY! Meaning it gets by but is it top teir education absolutely not. Better schools are Columbia or crestridge. My child is learning here but came from a very poorly ran school thus a small upgrade. There is racism, behaviors and not invested teachers in the classroom. I look for creative, motivated and passionate educational settings and this not that! So if your child is already bright and no behaviors than they can excel in this school but if your child is unserved, at risk, foster ect…. Not the place that will go above and beyond and the previous comments on principle is complacent is spot on. She is content with mediocre performance but I strive for excellence thus look a little further into suburbs to find that because is this a safe school YES, do the have free lunch, iPads ect… yes but is there anyone going to go above and beyond for your child absolutely not and that’s in respect to transportation, forms, iep, 402 anything!

I think the school overall needs some improvements. The principal has been in place quite a long time and seems to be complacent with motivation and invigoration of the staff they manage. The school could use some structural improvements in terms of bathroom remodels, IT upgrades, and overall classroom capacities/amenities. An additional portable classroom was put in place over the summer due to high enrollment for the upcoming year. The staff is involved but I do find some teachers are better than others. I think this is in part to the principal being in place for so long.

I am very pleased with all the teacher at this schoo, They are all very informative and so helpful and strive to make sure my children are learning and succeeding. I am not very fond of the receptionist that answers the phone though. Kathy is never friendly and makes me as if I am 'bugging' her or calling at the wrong time. She has been rude on serveral difference occasions. Besides that the rest of the staff have been very friendly! The officer on duty is always a very nice gentalman and you can tell he truly cares about the children!

My kids go to school there; however, we are not thrilled about the school overall. The teachers my kids have had are great, but the leadership is not good.
