My daughter made Honor Roll for the time being at this school. She enjoys most of her teachers. She said to me that she was able learn from her teachers because they actually take the time to explain what they are teaching and how to find the answer in a way she understands. She also speaks on one teacher who is very aggressive with her tone and how certain students often disturb other students to get the wrong attention in class and she makes everyone suffer because of some of those students actions that cause everyone to laugh. She mentioned another teacher that she likes who is disrespected because the children do not listen. She said that teacher is nice and have a hard time getting her lesson across to the students. I believe that discipline could be better with students who have no real interest in learning and finding a solution to helping them if there is a underlining issue to their behaviors. Overall, my daughter enjoys the school. Every school has that student or misbehaved children. This school has shown that it is safe for the most part. They are most definitely education driven, which is a plus. I would like to hear more about the school doing things to promote children talents and skills that can be more career oriented for their future. Like a small career head start before highschool. Leading them to a path to success for the real world. Because middle school children are extremely busy in trying to figure out their on individuality and get bored easily when feel restrained. So most become rebellious. My daughter is in 6th grade and they are treated like elementary kids. They are not able to cheerlead, there is no curricular activities for this grade, they have to stand in line to go to the restroom or anywhere else in the school, its rare for them to get permission to go to the restroom with a hallpass. They have no hallway lockers for students. They gym is just for hanging out no real creative ideas to get students physically engaged. I miss parent, student, and teacher interactions with school events in person. Even with all of this my daughter say she has a couple of really good friends and like the school, so I say that says a lot about the teachers and principals there. They care!

The school is good so long as your child does not have special needs. They will call CPS on you if your child has an anxiety/pick disorder and won't/can't leave scratches or whatever alone. They do not bother to open up the child's file to see all the documentation in it about all the disorders/issues the child has that therapists and parents have been working on for the past 5 years or more - they just assume you are bad parents. They will also call CPS if the child does not want to eat breakfast or dinner but you make them eat at least a granola bar anyway. Then if the child says they are hungry at school, you get reported to CPS for "starving" the child even if they are actually in the 50-75th percentile for their weight and age. And don't you dare tell any of them that they should expect more from your child and that he/she CAN do the work neatly IF they require it of him/her instead of them letting the child slide by or practically doing it for them - that will really set some of the teachers off. Absolutely Ridiculous!

Center Hill doesn't have their school listed for obvious reasons, they are horrible! They are supposed to be a 5 star school but that is ONLY academically based on our students. We should do one based on the teachers and staff. Which with the exception of the front desk help are completely incompitent. If your child has to go to a middle school here better move where they can go to OB Middle. My kids have gone to both and trust me that title of 5 star means absolutely nothing compared to your child being treated with respect. OB Middle is 5 star when it comes to the staff and the concern over your child not Center Hill Middle. That school is a complete JOKE! Oh and if you have to let your child go to Center Hill Middle here are a few pointers NOT to let your child do...don't run for any council because only the asst. principle and teachers kids are the ones that get those no matter how fair they claim the voting is. Think twice about any sports activities as well. They have very few good coaches. And the principle is just there drawing a pay check. They also do not want parent involvement! SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY FROM CENTER HILL MIDDLE!
