My daughter is going to this school. The bullying is ridiculous, the teachers can't control the students. The special education doesn't talk to the parents. I'm looking for another alternative. My daughter actually asked for homeschooling!!! (She is a social butterfly).

My daughter currently goes to this school and I’m trying to find a alternative, they do not have control of the classrooms, she has video proof of this, kids do not learn or are not challenged, the kids run wild, the bullying is out of control and fights daily, they mix 6,7,and 8th graders and the younger kids are teased especially when they first start 6th grade. There is no teacher student support zero supervision in the bathrooms where inappropriate behavior occurs! Please if you care about your child look for another school!

My son has not learned anything in any class of the school they did not care when the shooter came in and a student had to call 911 by themselves and bullying is the main problem several teachers have in jail for stabbing children at the school would not recommend

Went to this school in 8th grade, was bullied everyday, told by a counselor that it was my fault which lead to my parents taking me out after a lot of awful things. Got dress coded for wearing jeans that didn't even show my skin. The teachers always ignored me when I needed help, especially in algebra. I've always had a lot of trouble with math and such, but at least I was able to get help from my teachers in my old school. Awful school.

Absolutely horrible! They don’t care about the children and have no training with kids that are autistic and because they don’t understand, when the child has a meltdown they don’t call the parents they just admit them. My kid has done better homeschooling than being in this school! None of my kids will ever attend this school ever again!!

School is guiding students. Guidance counselors arent doing there jobs. Schools a set up for court system and juvenile detention centers. Teachers are overwelmed . The school is horrible. Should of researched more but ill be taking my kid to christian schools. These public schools arent good anymore they need oversight and staffing. The schools are failing us now as parents you better watch everyone your kid comes in contact with.

I am a substitute teacher and have subbed at many schools in New England and now in Ocala Florida. I have seen first hand, under the supervision of Principal Michael Carter, a supportive, respectful and caring staff of educators and support staff. I can assure anyone that Mr. Carter is always present, making sure that the students are supported and are safe. He is always available to all of the team of excellent educators as well as the students and their families. I would highly recommend this school to any family with middle school students as being one of the premier middle schools available anywhere

My kids haven't had a problem with Fort King Middle School. The teachers communicate with me.

The school is great and i would recomend it but acording to child experiences, teachers, specially science teachers are what is holding back the students education, i have experience this first hand and a retired science teacher had to work here, but they are always never allowing peer to peer learning and several times have ran his class empty by sending students, including me, out of his class for NO reason.

My child has had so many problems at this school. Bullying is constant, from the other students as well as the staff. The approach they take to students bullying other students is to suspend both the bully and the victim. When it is an adult bullying students, they ignore it and attempt to destroy any evidence of the incident. Thankfully my child will not be going to this school next year.

I attended in the late 1980's. I was taught the Marion County fundamentals of racism, homophobia, and mysogyny. In short, it's admirable to hate, fear, and dehumanize people that are different from you in any way. We see these values in many local elected leaders today.

The teachers are nice but they do not care about students with bullying and do not help the fact.

This was the worst experience I've had dealing with a school especially regarding bullying. I actually moved from Ohio and my son was bullied, suspended for defending himself, went back to school and was back into a physical altercation with the bullies within 3 days of going back to school (just to be suspended again). School officials were no help dealing with the bullying and they love to suspend for long periods of time (5-7 days). This is very concerning because children miss out on so much when they miss those many days. Overall I ended up homeschooling my son because I did not feel he was safe at Fort King Middle School.

Fort King offered a variety of clubs to participate in and most of the classes weren't too bad many of the teachers actually proving to be spectacular at what they do. However not all the teachers are the best, and the school is missing the Advanced Reading program only have Honors and Regular Reading.
