I can't say enough good things about St. I's. My son is currently in his third year and my youngest will start Kindergarten next year. The staff are great and really care about the students. They also have a great after school program. As a parent, I couldn't be more happier with the school.

My son was in the toddler program at St. Irenaeus. It was a wonderful and positive first school experience. He learned so much and made new friends! Now it's summer break and he still wakes up in them morning and asks to go to school. We are looking forward to the 3 year old preschool class next year!

This school had potential to be great, but through lack of leadership initiative to progress with parent requests and disregard to parent/teacher issues has caused the schools downfall. In addition, school cleanliness is an issue as the janitor does not clean, parents teachers are responsible for common tasks such as vacuuming. The cafeteria is also a social hall owned by the church and during the winter or rainy weather students must exercise around tables that cannot be moved. The janitor does not help at all after lunch. All parents volunteering must clean, and if they miss a spot hear from the janitor and the social hall coordinator. The school has lost numerous students due to these and other issues. Even though the school goes to grade 8, most children move to another school by 5 and/or 6th grade because you have the same teachers whom parents/students are not happy with.

I am proud to be a faculty member at St. Irenaeus School. We have a remarkable gorup of dedicated educators who consistently work on professional development. We have a caring, Christian environment. The families we serve are exceptional in their service to the school and to the local community. The small class sizes allow for individual instruction nad a family atmosphere. Even though the shcool is small, the students receive a variety of academics, including Spanish, Art, Music, Phys Ed, and Computer. Robotics is even offered in the upper grades, and the school has taken First Placee for three years in a row in the Junior Achievement's Pittsburgh's FUTURE NOW competition!!
