My child is in TK this year at LV. My wife and I are very impressed with the school and community. Our child is engaged in academic and social-emotional learning every day. They have made connections at school and feel part of the community through the older buddy program, morning motion, and spirit days. The principal is communicative and has a clear vision for the school. Parent organizations are welcoming and actively working to continue to offer more enrichment. We feel fortunate to be part of such a great school. Go bears!

An excellent school with a highly engaged and creative teaching staff. We began here remotely during the pandemic in kindergarten and now our child is back in school full time and thriving—learning in a supportive, kind, and engaging atmosphere.

Loma Verde is a hidden gem! The school is a beautiful campus safely tucked off the main road. The teachers have been there for years , because they love to teach and love working together. They are friends outside of school and it shows on campus as they help each other. The students feel the compassion and thrive at the school. We have families from different cultural backgrounds and a broad range of income levels, but all come together to contribute to the school. We have giving parents who volunteer their time during school hours, after or both. People are proud of the school and want to keep it a great place for kids!! Loma Verde is the most incredible school and my kids have been loving going there. In 2020 when the school was remote, my kids were sad and frustrated they couldn't be where they felt comfortable. The teachers stepped up to teach in a different way. They reopened as soon as they could while keeping everyone safe. Mrs Cheema our principal is there every day leading the staff and very hands on with all students. Within a month of school starting she knew all the students by name. She has taught there and now takes her role as principal to the next level. She is not only a leader but a friend. She is open and honest with families and her staff. Loma Verde is the best! Your child would be so lucky to attend Loma Verde.

Our child has attended Loma Verde since TK starting in 2019. The teachers, staff and leadership are excellent. Parents are engaged and highly involved, it is a wonderful community! We are so impressed by the school's communication, commitment to safety, and strong community, especially as we've endured the COVID pandemic. There is incredible positivity, excellent teachers and wonderful feeling across the entire school. We highly recommend Loma!

The year 2020 was like no other, which allows you to experience a school’s teachers, leadership and community’s true nature. I feel lucky and proud our child is at this school. It doesn’t surprise me that the PTO is able to raise $100k-$200k annually to help support this public school. The spirit that the Loma Verde children, teachers, leadership and parents bring to this school has an impact on all who attend. I’ve seen my child continue to learn, while being supported emotionally.

We loved our time at Loma! Our kids excelled and are well prepared for the next level of coursework. A few other elementary schools merge into the same Middle School. Our kids are at the top of the classes still. Loma was an excellent prep for the work.

While there is no perfect school, we have been very happy with our experience there. There is a strong and involved community, a great staff, and it is overall a great place for my kids to be.

So far, we are pleased overall. But as with any school, private or public, there is plenty of opportunity for improvement.

Loma Verde's diverse community was supportive and welcoming our 1st year. Our kindergarten experience with Ms Beth Kraft was both heartwarming and educational with lots of parental involvement. Ms Krafts focus on science and nature made our daughter excited to go to school every day. We encourage anyone in the district to tour our wonderful school.

LV is an incredible and caring community with high standards for both education and behavior. Children excel across the broad spectrum of abilities. The teachers, leadership and staff are attentive, driven and caring. This is truly what it means to be a community and a local school to grow with.

I really wish I could give Loma Verde a high rating, but I can't. If your child is learning English then yes, this school has benefits, but if you are expecting a quality education and your child to be more than a number or a dollar sign, I'd highly recommend going private. It's true that there is a dedicated PTG group but it consists of a small group of parents who do everything since overall parental involvement is practically nonexistent. Why the high rating then? My bets are on a small group of parents who REALLY want Loma Verde to succeed and do well. Is it though? Not really. Not if you don't want your kid to get lost in the crowd. It's a struggling school and it's fighting to not be, but it is far from being 5 stars- it lacks in academics, a caring and nurturing environment, structure, and parental involvement.

Our family loves Loma Verde! That is why we are so sad to be moving away. I had my doubts about LV when my son was about to start kindergarten. I was told by parents (who were note LV parents) about the school not being good enough. I took a tour and also toured other schools and I was impressed with LV and what it had to offer. Plus the principal was clearly engaged with the students and faculty and it was clear that she really cared about the school. Two years later, we are still here. Ms. Kraft and Ms. Mcmorrow are amazing teachers! Ive never heard a parent complain about their child's teacher. The other great thing about the school is the parent involvement. Parents chip in any way they can. Whether its helping the students get out of the car in the mornings, volunteering in the classroom or school fundraisers. The PTA does a great job of supporting the school's needs too. We can't say enough good things about this school!

Fabulous Principal with a wonderful understanding of the needs of her diverse school which serves everyone including children with disabilities and non english families. This little school manages to serve breakfast to all, find fresh vegetable for those who need, great teachers who care about the kids and innovative methods to enrich everyone.

Loma Verde is an incredible school. Rigorous academics, welcoming and nurturing environment with highly qualified and experienced teaching staff. The Principal was awarded "principal of the year" in Marin County for good reason. The culture has produced amazing results and progress. Some of the best scores in the state when sub groups are compared. The below comment about a kid "getting lost in 3 months" sounds like sour grapes. 12 weeks? No way. The partnerships that are formed in the classroom foster a progressive and well developed curriculum with defined results. These are evident in the API progress being made. But Loma Verde goes beyond testing and develops the whole child with Gardening, Track, Music, Technology and other enrichment programs. You will be hard pressed to find a more well rounded elementary education (public or private) in Marin Cty.

We love our neighborhood school. We have 3 kids there, all of them have excellent teachers and have thrived academically. The principal is outstanding.
