Children cannot be excited to learn when put down by their teachers. Communication is awful. School refuses to listen and work with parents to make improvements. Teacher and principal refuse an IEP. School refuses request for teahher change before start of year even after you had a bad experience with same teacher for previous student. School doesn't even ask why we withdrew our 3 children because they don't care to improve.

For full disclosure, I am the principal of CLS. As an administrator, I can tell you that our full staff cares deeply about our families and that they are always seeking ways to help students grow. As a parent of a Central graduate and two current students... I don't quite know where to be begin. We transferred in to CLS and found that our kids had more opportunities than we had at our previous school. For our family, Central has been a blessing. Our kids have grown tremendously academically and spiritually as well as in their talents. The school itself took great care of us when I became ill and had to go on a leave of absence for a semester. I cannot believe how much they did to help our family out during that time. We love CLS and are grateful for the chance to be here.

I attended Central Lutheran School, along with my five daughters and at present have 2 grandchildren attending Central. The teachers, staff are excellent, hot meals are served by our great kitchen staff and there is also before and after school care.

Our son has been attending Central since 2013. We are not members of a Lutheran Church but we wanted a Christian environment and curriculum for our son to learn in. We were welcomed with open arms by Mrs. Beverly, Mr. Cruetz and the entire staff. Our son feels very safe and has enjoyed learning from each teacher he has worked with. As parents we feel he is safe every day and learning academics as well as growing his faith. We are so blessed to have had the door open to Central in 2013. We feel like this was the right decision for our family.

Choosing the right school for your children is such a hard decision! I am so glad that I chose Central. It has been the right fit for my family. I know that my children are safe and loved and receiving the highest quality education possible each day. They have grown in their faith and are becoming such wonderful people, and I know that the teachers at Central have played a large part in that. I would recommend Central to anyone!

I am so incredibly thankful for Central Lutheran School! My child is currently in pre-school there, and I love the curriculum, program, and staff! I can't wait to see what a wonderful future he will have at CLS! We have family who have attended the school in the past, and it seems to be continually growing in academics, faith, and family involvement. I have never felt more at home, so quickly, within a school system/environment! God bless CLS!

I have always love Central and will be sad when our last child is out of there. I think Central provides a good Christian background for a child, especially when they attend a public school, where children are not always so nice. From experience, I can see that my children know what is right and what is wrong when they encounter others who have different backgrounds. I attended Central myself and knew that my children would, without question.

Love this school! Students are friendly. Staff is awesome! The school feels like a family. If you ever do not feel a part of the school it is because you are not getting involved. There is something for everyone.

My experience as a student at central was just awful. I was harassed both sexually and emotionally by everyone at the school. Not even just in my grade, everyone in the school merely because I'm a little different and I don't come from a wealthy family and just because I don't wear name brand clothes. I had only one friend at the school, and both of us were caled lesbians just because we didn't talk to anyone else, but how is that not expected when everyone else harassed us? Then the friend I had moved out of state and I had no one. I was called fat and ugly on a regular basis, and I only weighed 110 pounds, I've always been skinny. The poeple at central cannot even say they are christian I began going to youth group at a different church because the students at m church are from the school and harass me at church activities.. I complained to teachers often and no one did anything to help me. In fact I often was punished when someone else had done something wrong and blamed it on me. Central should not even be considered Lutheran. The students and staff at my public high school are fifty times better, and have never failed to fix any problems I have had with other students.

Reviews of this school are very polar as are experiences that go along with this school. I was a student here and depending on what family you come from and how much money you have, gives you these polar view points. If your family is well off and gives plenty to the school and church, more than likely your child will do just fine. However, the children that do not have this sort of background and appear different not only have poor experiences, but the school does nothing to help them. I have seen it from both sides and it saddens me that a school can call itself Lutheran and have this sort of eliteist attitude toward these kind of situations. I did however receive a great education, but a very poor experience. If you are looking for good Chirstian values, they teach it well, but fail to practice it.

To berate Central is unfounded, witness their ISTEP testing scores. Out standing school with a fantastic reputation in New Haven and NE IN.

My children attended Central Lutheran School. There are good memories and not so good memories. But I would recommend this school to anyone who would ask me. As I read through the reviews as parents we must remember each child is an individual and should be treated as such. What school was good for one may not be the best for another. But to look at the test scores, this school does prepare students for High School. The teachers are good and several are OUTSTANDING! The leadership is strong and will be stronger with our new principal coming this summer. The Academic programs are very good - again check out the test scores.

Central is a Christian school in name only. I would NEVER recommend this school. Our experience - with three children in various grade levels - was, at best, substandard to public schools in terms of academics - particularly math. And, at worst, one of the middle school level teachers was verbally and physically abusive to many students. Over the several years we were associated with this school, my students were stunted academically and their faith was damaged, almost beyond repair.

My child was NOT academically prepared for high school. Although she was able to get up to speed after the first semester in high school, her advanced placement tests prior to entering high school fell short. When I brought this concern to the school board it became a personal vendetta against the teacher of that subject.

My child was the victim of extreme bullying and the principal's answer was maybe I should remove my child. You better believe I did! This is NOT a Christian school.

The level of academics is below that of local public schools. The school board's answer to this was "we all passed ISTEP". I want more than the minimum requirements for my children, which is why I looked for a Christian school.
