The teachers at Western have been supportive and caring to all three of my children who have attended. The principal is very kind and understanding and listens to parents concerns. I am proud of the success and growth my children achieved while attending here.

I have two daughters attending Western Elementary. My husband and I are very happy with the staffs responsiveness to any questions or concerns we have as parents. Our girls are enthusiastic about what they are learning and are progressing well in all academic areas. Great job Western!

Western School is truly outstanding. I have four children enrolled, and I can confidently say that all of them look forward to going to school every day. They receive excellent care, with safety as a top priority, all while making the learning experience enjoyable and engaging. If a child faces challenges, they address it promptly and effectively. My children are thriving and happy, and we are incredibly grateful for Western.

Attending this school has been a wonderful experience for my daughter and us, as first time parents. As a teacher in a different district, I really appreciate community and involvement of the teachers and administrators. At Western, Ms. Goodrich knows each student by name and the kids feel truly loved by her and by her teachers. The school does an amazing job of bringing the community together and offering a lot of activities to encourage involvement and excitement for learning and being together!

We are so grateful for the supportive and nurturing environment at Western which has helped our child grow both academically and personally. Mrs. Goodrich and teachers are incredibly passionate and always go the extra mile to ensure every student is successful! We are so impressed with the schools commitment in creating a strong sense of community; shout out to the PTO and staff for planning such fun and engaging events for both students and families. We absolutely love Western!

y son is in fourth grade about finish at Western, and my daughter is just finishing up kindergarten. I have nothing but positive things to say. The current principal is wonderful, and my son has had some really great teachers. The building isn't new or updated, but it certainly doesn't speak for the quality of the faculty.

Western school is WONDERFUL!!! Mrs. Goodrich, the principal, and the entire staff are amazing!!! Our daughters are receiving an excellent education and they LOVE going to school each and every day! The PTO and staff are always planning fun events for students and families. The home school partnership is very strong and as a result of this a a close knit community has been established. We can not say enough positive things about Western School! It is an outstanding elementary school on every level!

This school is wonderful! We have been always made to feel welcome. My daughter is receiving a great education, has made lots of friends and is surrounded by a caring and nurturing staff. They truly go above and beyond! The passion and dedication of the teachers and principal are incredible. Mrs. Goodrich is so passionate about her position here. You can tell she truly LOVES the children.

My children have been attending Western since 2005 and I can not sing their praises enough. Highly qualified teachers, wonderful support staff, amazing principal. Western is community involved, the PTO does a great job putting together fundraisers and raising funds for so many different opportunities for the students. I could go on all day but I'll leave it with Western is AMAZING!

My son is currently in kindergarten and it has been a wonderful year. The staff at the school are friendly, pleasant and have a great heart. The overall community is very involved and the principle does a ton for the students. We are really happy with our overall experience so far and are looking forward to what the next few years will bring.

Principal Goodrich is great! Such a perfect addition to this family oriented school. They not only concentrate on children that need more help in areas, but have also created groups and class time for children who are ready to be challenged a bit more.

This school came highly recommended from my neighbors and I was so disappointed. My daughter's teacher was unfriendly. She spent most of her time complaining about my daughter during parent-teacher conferences, instead of discussing my child's strengths and areas that need improvement, like a professional teacher would. It turns out my daughter has special needs which were discovered once we changed schools. Her special needs went unnoticed at Western School. She complained of bullying and once was hurt by another child who was throwing furniture during a tantrum in the classroom. The teacher failed to inform me about the incident I had to find out from my daughter. Once I moved to another state and saw the kind of work my child was doing in the new school and compared it to Western School, I then realized how far behind this school is from the rest of the state as far as high standards and challenging curriculum is concerned. My child is happy at her new school because her needs are addressed, teachers care about her and still have high standards for her despite her challenges.

What can I say? Western is the BEST ELEMENTARY school In Naugatuck. Love Love the Principal,and My daughter attended western frm K-4, and In June of 2011, when my daughter entered grade five I was so sad I had tears in my eyes the day we Left Western also :( I highly recommend this school,as they were wonderful with my daughter and helped her in every way they could. and I miss all of them Dearly. My kids love Western School!!!! The principal is amazing and the staff always goes well beyond their job tittles. I have never meet a more caring and loving staff then the one at Western. There are so many things that help the kids both in and out if the classroom. My family will be sad the day that we leave Western School.

Western School has been a wonderful experience for our family. The principle is the best of the best! She has set the bar high for the students while boosting their self esteem and independance. The teachers have an open line of communication and the Western parents participate like none I've ever seen. I would reccomend this school to anyone. I will be sad when my family moves on!

When my daughter started Kindergarten at Western nearly two years ago, one of the first things that I noticed about the school is the how involved the principal is and how attentive, yet personable she is to students. It's not often one finds that rare mix of discipline tempered with kindness and concern. She genuinely cares about the educational needs of these students, and it shows in the teachers she's hired and how happy and thriving the children are. She also seems to understand that education starts and begin with parents, and no matter how rigorous and challenging a curriculum, and no matter how intelligent a student, parents are arguably the most important influence on a child's education. And parental involvement is not only welcomed, but also encouraged at Western school. I grew up in the Fairfield school system, which at the time was rated one of the best. And I can honestly say that my daughter's experience at Western reminds me a lot of my own grammar school education. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this school to others.
