The good stuff: the teachers are amazing some are a little strict but that's ok because they are also very good at getting a few of the kids to engage in the learning material of the class. Mr. Forish the Into to Animation/Photoshop and adv Photoshop is one of the best in the school. Mrs. Hanks the resource teacher is a good teacher if you get to have her. She helps with your classes and gives good help. Now the bad stuff: Mobile data forget about it, wifi also forget about it. There is some bullying in the school but the deans will somewhat try and help. The school does have a vaping problem, some students go to school smelling and acting like they are high. The students do tend to disrespect the teachers over small things like cellphone use. I would recommend this school as a lot of the teachers are nice.

To begin with, this school has been so supportive of my daughter and has helped her to grow academically and socially amongst her teachers and peers. The diversity and inclusion of the school population, has created a unique culture that’s helped to enrich the understanding of different backgrounds, and what it means to be human. If you need help, I’m glad that the community of NHS is there for one another, especially during the uncertain times that we’re in. Aesthetically, the school campus is beautiful, with many options of programs that students can choose from. Communicating with the staff has always been so easy, as they are readily available via email, phone call or through the ParentSquare app. I’ve never felt at ease knowing that my daughter is safe, and as a parent, you really need that peace of mind. I would recommend this school to anyone who’s looking for the best option for their kids. To add, the evolution of the board of education, it’s administration and superintendent, all play a factor in the improvement and quality of what’s planned out and executed, for the benefit of our future leaders. There’s nothing more important than a teacher who can make a huge impact on a student, whether through big or small actions. Thank you NHS!

Naugatuck High School is a great place to work. All the staff members are friendly and are truly working for the best interests of the students. The overall climate is very positive and I love seeing students come together to promote kindness and tolerance. I think the school's strength is in its diversity and the many courses it offers for students at all levels.

As a current student at Naugatuck high school, all I can really say is that the administration favors student athletes. I can say this because when I played sports up until I had a career ending injury dealing with the administrators was so easy, they would help you out as much as possible. After I stopped playing sports they just shrugged everything off that I would say to them. Thomas Pompei is one of the most immature administrators at the school, if you as a student or a parent have to talk to someone he would be the last person that I would talk to. Mr. Leary, Mr. Mariano, and all other administration are good at what they do. But again the favoritism to certain students at this school makes everything so unfair. If you don't play sports and don't have a close relationship to them they will not care as much. I'm a senior in good standing with a few detention hours. I work right after school every day after school, I didn't ask them to just wash them away. I tried to work with them and they just don't want to hear it, then I see other students in the same scenario and since they are close to the administration they can get away with it and the administration will help them out. Otherwise the school is alright, but if you're a parent or student that doesn't like favoritism and unfairness then you might want to enroll in a different school.

As a 2012 graduate of this high school , I'm here to say that this school is really going down hill and the future isn't looking good. While NHS isn't horrible it's getting there. The CAPT scores are horrible this school is ranked very low and practice for CAPT is never taken seriously at all, infact many teachers didn't care. For a such a low ranking school the teachers at this school are actually very smart and very helpful , however the classes are over crowded and sometimes that takes away from the learning and teaching process. The school itself is very dirty and gross (remember I graduated before they began changing it) there are papers all around the school , often gross things on the floor things I never saw in any other high school that I visited. Also with afterschool activites I felt that they never really encouraged you to join and just "yelled" you if you didn't. Same with sports as well . This school has very poor leadership as well and no pride .This school is enthincally diverse which causes alot of problems . Overall if I was a parent I would not send my child here at all. There are much better schools in nearby towns which so much more to offer.
