Mt George is a small, country school. As an IB school, they have certain components they have to follow. The teachers provide a rigorous curriculum, and have great communication between the classroom and home.

The teachers at Mount George are wonderful and the principal is great. The parents are very involved and our daughter loves going to this school. My husband and I both feel very lucky that our daughter gets to attend one of the best public elementary schools in Napa.

We have been at this school since 2008. For the most part, the teachers at this school are awesome! The principal is not the best and not even very good. This school is very tight knit and feels like family, but the principal to like the loud obnoxious relative you would rather not see during the holidays. Love the school and teachers, but do not like the way the principle talks to the children. We should all lead by example and follow the IB profile, not just the kids.

Student are at least 2 year behind where they should in their education. The schedule is week. Half days every Wednesday is no way to get a education. Teaching to the President Bush No Kid Left Behind means they are teaching to the dumbest student. Everyone goes with the status as this should be acceptable. The problem is the Teachers Union, who approved this schedule and sets the standards. Class sizes are way to large. If you want a good example of an education look at Merryhill Schools. For about the same amount of money as our public schools you receive a real education. Class sizes are always below 20 students. Also if you fail you stay behind. Here fail and you advance because the school looses money if they perform poorly and students do not advance. The Union needs to be eliminated. This would allow the administration to really fix the schools. With out needing more money. The Napa Public School are not providing a education to get an average job. Teacher benefits need to be greatly reduced. The pensions will break the system.

An amazing school with truly dedicated teachers who happily work with the parents to help them get the education they deserve. The community is very tight knit and not at all stuffy.
