Some say football stars and cheerleaders make it big in the real world. Some say being "popular" in high school is all that matters. Roughly speaking, there were 1,083,308 high school football players competing, and eventually 251 made it to pro. After simple calculation, we can get that the percentage of student-athletes going pro is approximately 0.023%. In truth, this number is not encouraging for anyone eager for a professional career.A practical high school experience like at New Tech HIgh School can help you achieve career readiness. I know of alumni who own their own tech companies in town, went on to work at Microsoft, Apple or Amazon in the tech fields...even gaming industries.

New Tech High has really evolved over the years. Though not perfect, it continues to push itself to be a leader in public education. Through authentic project experiences and engaging college and career opportunities, students are able to create their own personalized pathway to success. Many students go onto succeed at the best four year colleges, two year community colleges, or find a career path right after high school. It is easy to take having a school like New Tech High in your community for granted, but Napa is blessed to have it as an option!

I've had a great time at New Tech, Our new principal listens to students' concerns, and most teachers work hard to do the same. I feel very prepared for real world business situations.

I feel like New Tech has prepared em for the real world. It has offered me many opportunities to further my education both inside and outside of school. At new tech you have to be determined to take initiative of your own learning which helps to teach skills needed in life.

I think this school's a joke. If you want fun and games, New Tech's your school. If you want an actual education in an environment that prepares you for college, I suggest sending your children somewhere else. The grading is poor, the teachers, though wonderful people, just don't know how to teach.

I love this school. Honestly, I really do. But you just can't learn here. The female "math" teacher doesn't actually have a mathematics degree. She was just supposed to be a substitute, but she stayed because the district couldn't find anyone else to take her place. She doesn't know how to effectively teach math to her students, therefore a vast majority of her students are failing because they don't understand the material. She also doesn't respond to any emails her students send her. She fails to show up to meetings with students parents, and it makes it difficult to make a new plan. She is also very rude at times. She makes it really hard to pass the class. I just wish we had a real math teacher. Then it would have full stars. This is an amazing school overall.

Let me begin by saying that most of the teachers and staff at New Tech are fantastic. The reason why I rated the school one star overall is that I strongly discourage anyone from sending your child there. Let me qualify this with the fact that I rarely complain. I am the kind of person who likes to push positive things forward with recognition and ignore negetive things and starve them out of existence. With that being said I will now list the main reasons to avoid this school. 1. This school does not effectively support students. My son was a high achieving student, but at New Tech he did not feel he was graded fairly given that in order to be graded well he would have to do the work for his group, which was so much work it was not feasible. When I asked about this I was told that this is the New Tech Model. 2. The principal is completely unsupportive to my sons needs. She heard me out but offered no real change. The assistant principal, who was actually assisting me, was dismissed. I spoke with several teachers and it seems that the principal hordes the power and helps no one. Maybe New Tech was once a great school. It is not anymore.

Great teachers. Great parent community. Terrible current principal. The current principal pertends to listen to peoples' concerns and then goes and does the opposite. I have spoken with many other parents, students, and staff. This is a consensus opinion.

The principal is reason enough to avoid sending your child here. My concerns were not addressed despite meetings and promises to addess them. I cannot tell if it is incompetence or malice that explains the behavior but I recommend avoiding the headache.

I am a student that goes to New Technology High. I love this school because it really prepares you for the real world. It also is a great way to learn more responsibility. Many people say this is a bad school because its difficult, but if you work hard and really strive for good grades then you will do great! I also love how the teachers will work with you one on one, and really make sure that you're learning. This school is outstanding.

I'm a very social person. This school has good teachers but it's NOT a school for someone that wants to go through the traditional and NORMAL high school life. Going to this school has to be my biggest regret in my life. I was a straight A student but here at New Tech, it was harder to get good grades. For the whole year I was at New Tech, deep inside me was depression. I was sad not to be able to go to a real high school and experience how it's SUPPOSE to be. I never got to play sports, meet new students that aren't socially deprived, and so on. The majority of people that go to New Tech are those that were bullied and came to the school to get away from it. Being a small school brings everyone closer. That just horrifies me. To think that people would RUN AWAY from their problems instead of facing it. What a shame. But DO NOT go to New Tech if you are the type that loves to socialize and have a normal life. It was embarrassing to say I went to New Tech, people would think that someone like me would go to a real, normal high school.

A great school for those who want to do the work through sometimes it can be difficult. the people here are wonderful, thanks to the New Tech culture and the teachers, while some can be insensitive, are generally very kind and helpful. if you want to see what other students have to say you can look at their blog at http://newtechhigh-tours.tumblr.com/
