There is so much to love about Saint John’s. From the small size classes to the teachers who have a deep love and concern for each child that attends this school. This school has been great for my daughter. We are proud and extremely blessed to be part of the Saint John’s family.

I recommend this school to anyone who feels their child may need a bit more structure or discipline, individual care, and who would succeed with a little more confidence and sense of pride. It never hurts a child to know that they have a loving Father in heaven. Personally, I feel that's the best gift any parent can give their child.

St. John's Catholic is a stellar school that has educated thousands of children in the Napa Valley. My children graduated from St. John's and went on to attend excellent colleges. They were taught the necessary academics but also religion. They were prepared for the next steps in school as well as how to function in life. The administration was always available to listen to us if there was a problem, which there rarely was. I feel badly for parents who don't want to take responsibility for their kid's behavior and instead, blame the school and cowardly post anonymous slander. Sometimes, the bullies are the ones who don't recognize their own bullying behaviors. Sometimes the school has to ask those bully families to leave.... Contact the school for a visit and develop your own opinion!

I can declare the St John s the Baptist Catholic School community is by far the finest most diverse & brilliant collection of students, teachers & administrators in Napa Valley. Aside from having introduced me to some of the greatest people I've had the pleasure to meet, I ve also been introduced to the Valley's hardest working and most dedicated parents. I've never felt more at home in a school, than at St John s The Baptist Catholic School. The downtown Napa location is such a special place allowing students to interact with the environment around them by walking field trips to the Napa Valley farmers market, Napa Valley Opera House, Napa post office, Oxbow Market. Such a special place with an exceptional Principal Nancy Jordan.

I cannot recommend this school. Bullying is alive and well at this school. If you bring it up to the principal, especially if it involves her children, she will ask your family to leave. Some long time teachers are good but Sister Joyce is the worst. I took my children to private school and they were academically behind. Other parents who left St. Johns said the same thing.

Both my children graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic School and were prepared academically and socially for high school. The small class size and teacher to student ratio allowed the classes to be academically challenging and differentiated. The no-bullying policy was enforced and effective. The teachers held high expectations and provided guidance. Students are encouraged to think for themselves and problem-solve. Many student-led activities gave my children an opportunity to work in groups and be leaders. The faith filled atmosphere and family like feel of the school was a blessing. We felt immediately, after changing from over crowded and over-stressed public school.

Having had two children graduate from St. John the Baptist Catholic School and one child still in the school, I can honestly say I wouldnt have done things any other way. The SJ family couldnt be more supportive of the academic, spiritual & emotional needs of a child. The seamless integration of Catholic principals & morals into the classroom education is refreshing & impressive. As well, SJ focus on the whole child is underlined by its stress on adding programs that support all aspects of education and growth. (cont)

I attended St. John s for once year, and without a doubt it was the worst decision my parents made for my academic endeavors. I was switched from a public school within Napa (with a school rating of 5) to St. John's. My biggest concern was that the start of my academic year was a repeat of my previous public grade curriculum. If I would have stayed in the public school systems, I could have taken advantage of the advanced courses offered. The second biggest concern is that its bullying policy was not enforced while I was there; especially, the racially inappropriate content. Unless you are part of the majority group within your cohort, you will struggle here. I never experienced this behavior within a public school system. They do a great job of teaching Catholicism and fostering athletic development. What really matters when making a decision about your child s school is: a) the curriculum offered (i.e., number of honors, advanced courses); b) opportunities to engage in different activities (i.e., clubs, music, athletics); and d) making sure you advocate for your children.

My daughter has been attending St. Johns since Kindergarten and she is now in Junior High. The school has been great for her. It is a small, nurturing environment where you feel like the teachers and staff actually cares about your kid both educationally and emotionally. The school has a no bullying policy that is strictly enforced which makes those difficult pre-teen years much easier. Parent involvement is required but there are lots of things to choose from and you also get to know the other parents. Overall, this school was a terrific choice for my daughter. I know she will be successful in high school as St. Johns as prepared her well.

From the moment my husband stumbled across this school by chance before moving to Napa, popped in to check it out, to meeting with the Principal for the first time to further consider this school and three years later to seeing my oldest daughter graduate from grade 8 here (with another still in grade 7), St. John's has been the very best Catholic school our girls have ever attended and we thoroughly believe our time here has been a blessing. This is a school (from top to bottom) that is authentically concerned with the whole child; education of mind, body and spirit. We would recommend this school to any family who embraces the same values - and if you don't yet, you will learn to :)
