Amazing school, wonderful teachers, outstanding school district…they really go above and beyond for their students!Munster is the best…#1 in Lake County and even top 10 in the state of Indiana…highly recommend! Families pay more so their kids can go to Munster schools and it’s easy to see why. Even the sports teams outperform…colleges love Munster grads!

The after school activities and sports really keep the kids busy and out of trouble! They have many after school groups, there is something for everyone. The teachers are great at communicating to the parents if its needed. The classes offered are wonderful. My children are doing great in AP classes. Parent involvement is present. It really takes a community to raise children and my family is glad to be a part of Munster. I cant say enough. I believe that this school has made my children ready for anything the world will throw at them after high school. I think if anyone has a negative opinion on this school it is because they are not active in it.

I have raised two kids in the Munster schools (over 20 + years) and can say that the teachers, while they can be tough on the kids, they really DO care about their sucess both in their personal and professional lives. I LOVE the fact that they have such diversity and a genuine desire to see and foster excellence in the students. There are a multitude of groups that students can join, and they are adding to that list constantly to show inclusion. As mentioned before, there was GREAT mismanagement several years ago with the Administration (not sure if those were ever held accountable-as they should have been) but the families rallied and supported the school system. It is a true hometown place and I hope that NEVER changes. Praying that those moving into Munster will opt to keep its charm, beauty, and closeness up for years to come! GO MUSTANGS!

After extensive research on Northwest Indiana area schools, we decided higher housing prices and taxes were well worth being in this school district. Amazing education and athletics programs paired with caring teachers/staff. If you want an outstanding public school look no further than Munster.

Horrible, never recommend. I wish Munster had another HS and you weren’t forcing kids to go here

We moved here over 10 years ago largely because of the schools and they haven't disappointed. Yes, the school district had financial issues but the community and the administration rallied. There has been strong recovery and progress made and I'm happy to have helped. As for the education, my kids get pushed, hard. Yes, they are smart but they also get pushed to have good study habits and are challenged to think. As for the teachers, they aren't trying to get you to like them, they are trying to make your kids smarter and more disciplined. I like that.

I had 4 children graduate from this school, all with high academic success and 2 of whom went on to participate in collegiate athletics. We moved to Munster in the early 1990's so that our children could take advantage of their high academic standards and be able to participate in multiple extra curricular activities. Their time spent in the School Town of Munster system was well worth it as they are all very successful adults today and all have multiple bachelor degrees and two have attained their master degrees.

My child transferred to Munster High School and blossomed. The course selection is extensive and the STEM emphasis is both broad and deep. Lots of parent and community support. Students have high expectations set by the school and most of them rise to the challenge. A Munster diploma is known and respected by some of the most discerning universities and colleges. There was past misconduct by school administration and the district has recovered well - the education is still top rated in the area.

Munster is a small school with high ratings, but I can tell you that those ratings (thus test scores) are that way because of the student demographic more so than the education provided. This is a high & middle class town with a great deal of well educated, professional parents who value education and thus fill the schools with smart kids. I'm not impressed with the innovation (actually lack thereof) of the school and Crown Point and Valpo (close second) seem to be leading the way in the Region in that regard. With their 1:1 computer initiative, they should be doing more to personalize learning and allow students to learn differently, but they're not. I have experienced a few very poor teachers in the school, but some really wonderful ones as well. I think that the administration is so focused on money that they haven't the time to really think about how to improve learning for the students in the district and are lucky to be able to depend on high test scores without too much intervention on their parts.

The School Town of Munster is in debt. They owe millions of dollars which is not good at all. This is an Ok school, but Munster should be careful about big debts.

This is a great school with a lot of activities for many different students. The teachers are dedicated and the academic rigor is impressive. They offer many AP and dual credit courses.

horrible, administration sucks, only care about the smartest student, unwillness to listen to student about any problems, lets not forget their corrupt, use their money for unnecessary things. cafeteria is a fire hazard because of amount of student per lunch, even though they had 20 million dollars to build a new football field and Olympic size pool, overall the school system is not as good as you have probably been told.

I attended MHS from 1966 until 1969 when we moved to Florida. It was a great school with many opportunities! Unfortunately, I was a real jerk then with a bad attitude. A couple of times teachers approached me personally to try to help but my attitude got in the way. When I did buckle down and work I got a lot out of it and learned a lot!

Our family is originally from Korea and after completing the MDs at U of Chicago and getting a positions at Community Hospital and IUN, me and my wife decide Munster is our home. School is excellent! My son have no problem in school and academics is challenging and engaging. And large Asian population in school is great for network and support. Our family is accepted by school, community and we are happy! We were hesitated to live in Indiana because of fear of hate but nothing to us good thing! We see more Korean families moving in to take advantage of great schools for good price! We plan to stay for area for a long time. Thank for a nice prosperous town and school!
