Recomendado 100%

My daughter has attended Coconut Palm Elementary since kindergarten, she is now in fifth grade. We have seen a tremendous improvement in this school. Please don't let the bad reviews fool you. Every teacher she has had, has been amazing. My daughter has an IEP and the school has really supported her.The teachers and staff truly care for the students and parents. The office staff is very attentive. The principal, Mr. Alejo is wonderful and very caring. He is very involved and you can tell is very caring for his students. I have other children who attended other schools in another city, and in comparing the schools I can honestly say Coconut Palm is a great school!

I decided to write this review to warn other parents and think twice before registering their kids in Coconut Palm Elementary. I really wish I knew better and did research before registering my boys. The lack of communication between parents and teachers is HORRIBLE. Once my son got to 5th grade, I did NOT receive an email, any notification, parent/teacher conference, anything from his teacher. I talked to her via email 3 times and that was it. This school simply lack the proper structure to help kids improve and thrive. Now that my sons are attending another school I can clearly see the HUGE difference. Eventhough I always tried my best to help my kids, sometimes it was impossible because I did not have the right tools and proper communication with their teachers. My advice to other parents is, think twice before letting your kids attend this school.

Coconut Palm is the best elementary school ever!!! My family have history with this school. I also attended this school when it was first opened. I can't stretch it enough how much i love this school and the staffs here.I have a few teachers that needs to be recognized.Mrs. Bertran is my ALL TIME FAVORITE TEACHER!!!!! She goes BEYOND, and all the words I can write will never be enough. My family had the honor of having her teach my son and my sister two years in a row and we are forever blessed!!! She is a great teacher and she cares about education more than anything. Communication with her is absolutely a breeze. within two years, I've noticed a big change in my son. He is respectful, kind, and honest. My son and sister is so HAPPY with Mrs.Bertran. My little sister also went from 0 to 100 in reading. She didn't know much but now she actually reads!!!Coach P is amazing!!! He keeps the kids entertain and active at ALL TIMES! Hes fun all around and the students loves him!!Mrs D Rod is the sweetest teacher ever! She makes the student really comfortable and she's just a sweet heart from the moment you meet her.Mrs. Perfetto was all of my kids teacher and she was definitely another sweetheart. She’s always smiling and the kids always came home happy with her. We are forever grateful for her. Principal Thelmas and Vice Principal Kinggard are both amazing! They are so active in the students which is amazing! You see them dance with the students at the school dances, you see them show up to all of the events after school, and they pop in to every classroom every now and then for open house, math nights and etc. Mrs Valdez is the best music teacher there is out there. SHE PUTS HER WHOLE HEART into the students. Her shows are amazing!!! She is so dedicated and it just makes my heart so warm that shes the same person she was 15+ years ago. Nobody loves their students the way she does. She is truly a blessing! Her Chorus team is amazing!!!!I am a parent and I want my kids in the best care of course but it also starts at HOME. I explain to my kids how we should respect others to get the same in return. Our kids spends most of their time in school so the least we can do is help our kids at home when the teachers tell us what we should do at home to show improvement for our kids. I love coconut palm and everything they have to offer.

Never coming back again awful. My children did not have the right tools given to them and teachers do not care to go above and beyond to help the students like other schools do. I am blessed my children are in a A+ school as per now and they are doing phenomenal.

My name is Shamsa Mohammed and I have two children that attend this school. My son has improved with his academics and I am so happy for all the help and support that I have received from the teaches and staff. I am very satisfied with the quality of educators and the values they impart to my children. I highly recommend this school to all.

My son has been in gifted every year in this school. He has received awards through out and honor roll. But I was told that he would be in regular class in the 5th grade his very last year in elementary because they have no room. No one is trying to assist me with this. I have contacted school board superintendent awaiting a reply on Monday. So disappointed. I participated in PTA and my son never misses an extra curricular activity. My younger cousins went to the school and their unwillingness to assist is so disappointing. They obviously don't care about the students.

The school is great, especially the teachers. My son looks forward to going to school everyday and his progress through 2nd grade has been more than I can expect.

My daughter likes the school. My experience has been very satisfactory related to the teachers that has been in charge of my daughter. The teachers have been always available whenever I need to meet them. My daughter is so happy to be there, she tells me and I also noticed it in her. Coconut Palm has the environment and attention that my daughter needs for learning.

This school has some of the most amazing teacher's Ms. Rigby and Ms.Pons are the best. My child is lucky enough to once again have Ms. Rigby this year for third grade. She is what we refer to has a old school teacher. Teaching children the fundamentals of learning, i have never seen someone who care and teaches children like she does. Coconut Palm is very lucky and blessed to have these two teachers.. Yes the school is not perfect but what school is. The pick up and drop off are are pain but it is well worth it. If your child will be attending this school look into theses teachers..

This school has been nothing but great to me and my son. My son was on an IEP and they worked with him and did a excellent job. My only complain is that after next year, i need to find a new school since he will be in the 5th grade...

I was skeptical at the begining as my child had been in a private school since PK3-1ST grade, then for 2nd grade in a Charter and for 3rd in a Public Coconut Palm. Thankfully this school from day one gave me the impression it was going to be just fine. I wanted to go take my son to the classroom and the asst. principal finally gave in after my persistence and I saw him ok. Throughout the school year the support of the office staff and teacher was remarkably great and just want everyone to know who is considering bringing their child to this school. All walks of life will be fine.

On the surface it seems like a good school, but if you are having issues with the programs or events that happen, all you get is lip-service. Something happened with our daughter on the school bus. We tried to get information from the principal's office, but nothing really happened, then we went to the police to see if we could look at the bus video. That seemed to put some pressure on them and we finally got an answer. Our daughter is in the ESE program, and was held back in her grade because she failed the end of the year test. We had no idea if she failed the test she would be retained. She was getting satisfactory grades till then. No communication. They have a water safety class at the end of the year which lasts 2 weeks, and we didn't want her to participate because of health problems. The only thing we could do was keep her home with unexcused absences. They wouldn't help to give us another option.

This school is absolutely spectacular! They do wonders despite the constant budget cuts. It is sad to see some programs go. But, they still maintain a high level of education. They have a security police officer. The place is Fort Knox safe, and anyone who drops off their child at that school, knows their kids are safe as they head off to work. The principal and staff are the best I've seen, they are visible, approachable, and they care a lot. They teach our children core values, and prepare them for an aggressive competitive world!

Not too thrilled about this school the office staff is very rude the principal and vice principal are very nice so sorry their office staff cannot take a page out of the book of their leaders. Dropping off the students is ridiculous. I get a headache just thinking about going through the tedious task of dropping off and picking up my children. The teachers are very nice and hard working, yet it does not compensate for all the other negative aspects of the school. Their AR program is no incentive to the students my kids were extremely happy to participate while in their other school because all students received an award for participation here only the top three students in each class are recognized. In my husbands words......it is a prison

The school is O.K. Totally F.C.A.T. oriented. Nothing else matters The school is very clean, safe and organized. The morale of the teachers is ok . None dress code, the kids looks chaotic. The in house aftercare program is not the best, but you have to live with it. The PTA is really involved and supports the school with big amounts of money. They have an outstanding chorus, art and drama clubs. The AR & Math superstar programs are tremendous motivators for our children to succeed.
