I have had 2 kids attend Glades Middle. While I was hesitant at first to send them there because of the past reputation, I'm glad I did. When making a decision about your child's education, make the effort to contact the schools you are interested in. Learn about their innovative programs and make the time to take a tour of the school. Go with your gut and make the best choice for your child. Am I going to tell you that Glades is the best school for your child? No. I am going to say that Glades was the best school for my kids. I'm so glad I did school choice and had the privilege to send my kids to Glades Middle. Glades Middle fosters a nurturing and inclusive environment where the students feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. They have dedicated teachers that have always encouraged my kids to reach their full potential. This is my last year with a student at Glades Middle. The best advice I can give is to get involved. Volunteer. Join the PTSA. Attend the SAC meetings that are held once a month. Know what is happening in your school and community to elevate your experience. You won't regret it.

I am giving this school two stars only because 2 of the 7 teachers my son had were amazing. I had pretty low expectations for middle school and this school did not even meet those. One of his core teachers was out on a regular basis with no substitute or make up work provided. He failed most of the quizzes and tests in this class but still earned a B for the class which is a mystery to me. He had another one of his teacher leave mid-year with no notice from the school to the parents - instead the kids were sent to different rooms and babysat by teachers with free periods for THREE weeks before they notified parents of the changes. It took him three weeks and multiple emails from me to receive a pass to see a guidance counselor and when he did finally get the opportunity was rushed through his meeting. Bullying runs rampant at this school; my child was bullied most of the first half of the year. Emails I sent to administrators about safety concerns were left unaddressed. I am not a squeaky wheel and I don't have unrealistic expectations of teachers and a school but overall, I was so disappointed in my son's experience at this school. I am so grateful we are moving this next year and if we weren't, I would do anything in my power so my son would not need to attend again.

Very disappointed with this school. Many teachers who do not attend school. The teachers of the elective subjects are very bad. Many go to school and do not even teach classes.Good teachers are counted. Many things are not handled as they should. Apparently it was very good school in previous years, I don't know what has happened.

This is a horrible school and I'm so glad my parents took me out. The students here are horrible all they care about is popularity and relations ships and not about learing at all, and this school is so unorginized from the staff to the school it self. A t this school I never really learned anything because they barely tought and I didn't relize it until i came to my new school and I'm so glad I did because with school I'm at now I have so many more opertunities to succeed than i did here.

My children hate this school. They say it's loud and rowdy. It is hard to focus in class because the students are not listening and disrespectful. The teachers mostly hand out assigments with little actual teaching. There are fights. Nothing is done about bullying. Administration and counselors do not reply back. I am afraid my kids are going to fall behind academically. They don't feel safe or supported in school. We will be moving at the end of this school year.

My experience with this school has been great. It is a great learning environment that focuses on students. The band director is awesome, I agree with another person who stated the same. For instance, in a recent concert, you can see the respect that the students and director have. Even in the concert, he connected the importance of music to other academic areas for students' development. To see how these students were able to be on point after a year and half of virtual learning, is amazing. Great job!

Middle school is a rough time in anyone's life. Coming from the nurturing environment of elementary school to six classes with teachers, students, schedules, activities, etc. is daunting even for the most well adjusted child. Glades Middle has made this difficult transition a very smooth one for my son. You hear horror stories in middle school, don't let those stories sway you from coming to Glades. Meet Mr. Santana, speak to the teachers, meet some of the students. Many are very bright and the curriculm is always expanding with programs like Robotics, Coding, Debate, TV Production, Art, Band, and many more. They offer more than most middle schools and defintely more than any charter school. I was a parent who was scared into a charter school thinking it was "better". I soon realized it wasn't. I have my second son coming to Glades next year and I wouldn't send him anywhere else.

My son attended his first middle school year at this school and only encountered one incident with a classmate, and this was well and immediately approached by teachers, counselors and Principal within minutes after I sent the mail on my concern. This was on a Friday after 6pm! My son has never felt unsafe there and now my daughter is starting her first year of middle school as well. I feel great with the environment there, the constant communications between teachers with parents and the way kids receive support and guidance from their teachers! Awesome leader!

I'm going to be an eighth grader soon actually. I've been in this school since 6th grade and it's nothing out of the ordinary. As a Cougar Path student in the gifted team, I definitely do enjoy my classes. Parents, please do not complain to teachers and staff about the enormous amount of 'homework'. Please talk to your children before making any assumptions about the seemingly outrageous amount of work our teachers assign us to do DURING CLASS. Also as a peer counselor, I get out of sixth period often to visit other classrooms to help out only to be greeted by that typical group of skippers. Make sure your kids hang out with the right people, especially at our age... We're somewhat rebellious and stupid? Fights do happen and if your kid is smart, they should steer away from them. All in all, this school is decent. Just make sure your kid doesn't hang out with the wrong people or they will most likely become like their group of friends.

My son is graduating from the cougar path program. He has had a great three years. The teachers are awesome, amazing, and take time to answer all questions. He has never been bullied, and has lots of friends. The band program is amazing. I am so sad to see his middle school years come to a close.

Full of Bullies. My child was threatened and later beaten by bullies. Then my son was thrown off of a set of bleachers and he fractured his ankle. The admin did nothing. I have gone in to many sessions where I was to meet with a specific teacher and was cornered by all of his teachers; instead of telling me what my son who is an ese student, would be receiving as far as help and accomodations is concerned; they wanted to tell me that he asks for bathroom priveledges too often and they are not happy about that. I feel the whole attitude of this school stinks. I love the SRO officer and a couple of the people at the front desk- the band director is awesome as well- no comments on the rest. I will move him as soon as I can find a spot. I am very disappointed and am just sick to drop him off at this place knowing at any time he will be jumped or bullied, and nobody will help him. Would not recommend this school to anyone.

We were brand new to the area and my son had a tough time adjusting to 6th grade. However, the teachers and staff went out of there way to make adjustments to his morning routine so that he felt comfortable. I receive emails and phone calls in response to my questions in a timely manner (within 24 hrs). Most teachers have websites so parents can stay on top of what is happening in class. Pick up and drop off is organized. Safety is a primary concern and I see that with teacher, staff and student attitudes. I am proud to send my child to Glades.

My school is a great school. My son is going into the 7th grade, had an awesome 6th grade year, made honor roll the whole year round... had great communication with all his teachers.

Great School, Great Teachers and Staff, Great Administration and Great Students! What more can be said? As the parent of a 7th grader in her 2nd year at Glades Middle I can honestly say that any concerns I might have had about those "middle school years" have been erased. As an involved parent I have had the privilege of being able to observe the staff and students day to day and can say it is a great school to be a part of. Parents are involved, PTSA is very active and the staff and student body are always busy planning activities, community service and charitable events to enhance the academics and give back to our community. "A" school since it opened it's doors!!! Parents that are considering a charter school instead of Glades MIddle are doing their children a disservice. Don't believe the talk by the water cooler! This is a stellar school, and as such an innovator in curriculum for the Broward County District with the Cougar Path (S.T.E.M.) program. Their latest efforts are in meeting with their feeder elementary and high schools' teachers to ensure smooth transitions both to and from Glades Middle School...ingenious!

My straight A High Achievement 7th grader was removed ( by no fault of his own) from a high achievement science class into another science class that was a full chapter behind. I came to the school for clarification on the matter multiple times & asked for a meeting to be scheduled No one willing to help us. - Multiple messages left with the 7th grade counselor & 7th grade Center. No one from the staff was professional enough to answer just a few questions about our concerns. I understand the new class size rule but this could have been taken care of in a more professional mannor. I cannot recommend this middle school.
