High quality education in every area. As a mother I feel glad my daughter attends this school. The communication with the staff is amazing.

My kids were average students and had an amazing experience. They played volleyball, basketball, baseball, and later LAX. They went on amazing school trips, retreats, and made lifelong friends. They learned how to to become respectful young adults. They had excellent teachers, some of whom helped them when they got to college.

i graduated from st brendan in 2020 and i can safely say that it was the worst experience of my life. i was not bullied by students, but by faculty & staff. i was in all honors classes and behaved well, but most of the teachers at st brendan have superiority complexes that don’t allow for students to speak their mind or defend themselves in the event of a disagreement. almost all of the faculty and staff enjoy belittling the students simply because they are older than them. the former dean of discipline, now interim principal is the perfect example of this behavior. students were scared to walk the hallways with the fear of being verbally attacked by her ridiculous rules and regulations. students would receive demerits (which will appear on your permanent record) for things that could have easily been warnings. if parents were involved in disciplinary actions due to their unjust nature, they too were spoken down to. along with constant harassment and interjection of personal feeling and political beliefs from teachers, several of those “teachers” were not qualified to teach anything, let alone the subject they were placed in. most are alumni who come back to their alma mater in desperate need of a job and are given it due to sheer favoritism. however when the entirety of enrolled children in a certain course express an issue with the teachings, they are once again dismissed and punished for speaking about their concerns. at st brendan it does not matter if your argument against a member of the staff has substantial proof, the faculty will always allow them to get away with it. aside from the “faculty and staff” if you can even call them that, students are prohibited from expressing themselves. athletes are not permitted to wear their jackets or jerseys at risk of receiving a demerit and having it taken away. this is due to the faculty’s idea that wearing one could make others feel left out. seniors are not allowed to express their enjoyment in becoming seniors by wearing senior crowns because this may make the lower grades feel bad, even though they will also be seniors one day. unless you are an “alpha” and score highly on the entrance exam, nobody cares about you. ironically enough alphas are placed in a pedestal and shown off, while you are not offered the same opportunities that they are. this makes it impossible to make any academic strides, as there will always be students surpassing you, no matter your skill set. take my advice and stay away.

Exceptional academically our experience with sports wasn’t as exceptional but nothing that made us regret our time there. Our daughter will be attending soon and we are confident that she is in the right hands.

I am an alumni of St. Brendan High School. So was my sister and my oldest son. I taught there for 7 years between 2013-2019 and, "if I could turn back time" (to quote Cher) I would NEVER have returned here. The horrible experience that my son experienced with bullying is the nightmare all parents fear. In addition to ruining my son's high-school experience (he is now getting a GED), the school took it further and personally retaliated against me (an employee with a disability) when I stood up for my son's mental health, by interfering in a labor contract for the following school year.

My daughter began at St. Brendan with great expectations. During her four years she found amazing teachers, really dedicated and passionate about their work. But also found many that don't.If we talk about the administration... Do not even try to call or send an email. You will not get a response. Many unpolite and disrespectful people. I agree with the other comment.. They don't listen to any advice so it will never change.Lastly, do not even try to be considered for Valedictorian if you are not the son of daughter of a teacher or someone working in the administration. They show favoritism in everything.

The school has a bit of an identity crisis. They want the school to be just as respected, successful, and academic as Belen, Columbus, and Lourdes. The problem is that they don't have the resources to do it. They don't have the best of teachers, some of the teachers are horrible at teaching and one teacher got fired for being in an inappropriate relationship with a student. The student body doesn't help the reputation of the school. During the weekends, students are always caught drinking, doing drugs, or sleeping around. There is also students who smoke e cigars in the bathrooms all the time. It also doesn't help that the student body is so low class in manners and how hypocritical some are (especially the campus ministers). This is why the people of Saint Brendan are always made fun of by more respected high schools. The school also likes to suck as much money from you as possible by selling overpriced tickets for winter formal, prom, honors convocation, graduation, etc. The school never listens to any advice or new ideas, so nothing really changes, which makes student government really pointless.

Great school and administration. The school has made great strides with the academy programs and now they are beginning to build the new athletic fields.

St. Brendan High School is no doubt on the Rise! There is great new leadership at this high school and the Administration and Staff do an excellent job of teamwork! My students have thrived at this school since they got here. The willingness by the teachers, staff and Administration to help our kids excel and find their purpose is truly remarkable. The curriculum is challenging and prepares them for college! A+ to them!

I am a grandparent who has lived in Miami most of my life. My daughter and daughter in law are both STB graduates. They are both mothers and successful career women. One of my granddaughters is now a junior at the University of Florida having graduated from this fine institution. She was accepted at every school of higher learning which she applied to and these were major universities not just mediocre celleges. She did not like the cold and chose instead UF. I dont understand the poor comments about STB. Another granddaughter is now a senior at this same school. She too is being accepted at the fine institutions she has applied to and is yet to decide where she will pursue higher studies. From my experience as a parent and grandparent this is a fine catholic high school. As a matter of fact, they were among the first locally to offer a program for advanced studies such as ALPHA way before Lourdes. If you want your child to learn about values, our faith and to prepare for life and for higher studies, this is an excellent institution to do so. The school is very well run. As a matter of fact, the present principal is much more qualified than the one running the school when my daughter attended in the 80's. Having raised three children locally - all college graduates and exceptional human beimgs, - I know a thing or two about local schools and education.

I am going to be a senior now and I have been at st brendan all three years and I could say without a doubt if I could do it all over I wouldn't have gone to st brendan the only reason why I am staying is just because it's my senior year and all of my friends are here. If you go down to July 3rd of 2013 through the 26 it's about five or so amazing comments about the school if your wondering about that it is because on those days the factually sent an email to the teachers to write good reviews about the school. If you want an honest review about the school then ask one of the students who go to school there don't ask the factually because they will flat out lie to you, please choose another school to send your kid to

I am a freshman this year and it is literally the best decision I have ever made. Saint Brendan not only is challenging. me academically through the alpha program but also brought me together with my faith. I have met so many nice people and the teachers are great especially Mr.Fitts. Absolutely wouldn't prefer anything else

Please note how a significant amount of the positive reviews came within days of each other. I know for a fact that it was a planned response by the administration. Look at the dates, acronyms, & terminology and it should be evident to you as well.

STBHS is a fantastic school with wonderful educators. My daughter is a sophomore and she loves attending this school. It is very good academically and there are many different clubs/activities for students to get into.

Now I srsly hate how some people are putting this really bad reviews about this school. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL, for. The student point of view nothing had changed, yea and what some teachers left BUT THATS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. From what I have heard from THE PRINCIPAL ITSELF in the open house, the academies would be added next year for the '18 freshmen class and for the current freshmen to start next year. and then if your child is is getting drunk high or whatever it's happening they should think over their relations and the friends they have not blame the school!! No school is "stalking" a student's personal life, after all, a lot of stuff have changed in the past years and I'm not talking about the school but abut society in General so yea. Also stop saying some of this reviews are fake bc in really done with you people.

This school was a very fine school once. However, since the big change in 2012 it has been a school based on false promises. Many of its best teachers have left, which is a bad sign when a school starts to do badly. They want the school to be like Belen, Columbus, or Lourdes, which will never happen. St. Brendan was a special school designed to serve a special student. The administration is working hard to change the image of the school into one of excellence, which will never happen. Most of the good reviews here are fake and written by them. If you want to go to a good school like Belen, Columbus, or Lourdes, then go to those schools and not St. Brendan. One teacher (who is still there and confided to me) told me that the teachers rat out each other and that the administration favors some and not others. I noticed some of those teachers posted a good review here. This of course has caused major problems and it shows in the level of education they are now giving the students.

STBHS isn't what it used to be, and that means different things to different people. If you attended before 2012, you may recall the unique, warm atmosphere where students of all socioeconomic levels fit in. There was a place for the shy ones, the nerdy ones, the wholesome ones, and even those who were a bit rough around the edges. The bright students would succeed in AP/honors classes, and the not-so-bright ones would somehow find their own way. Students felt comfortable and loved. Much has changed with this new "vision." It began with a few tweaks, and then it went completely overboard...the school's unique personality and culture perhaps getting lost among the way. Some might argue that STBHS needed to be overhauled to be more like Lourdes or Belen in academics and reputation. They forget that STBHS ultimately serves a more diverse community/niche. Students and parents are aware of the negative impact, as expressed in the reviews below. They have genuine concerns about why a significant number of beloved teachers will not be returning. Only time will tell how these changes-for-the- sake-of-change will truly impact the school's future.
