This school is amazing! It was simply perfect for my son in all ways. Very supportive, great academics, more activities that you can count, there is literally something for every student. The athletics are top level. There was no better school for my son. I highly, highly recommend scheduling a visit so you can see for yourself.

My son has attended Columbus for 4 years. He is now a senior. The professors are great as well as the administration. I am writing this review since reading the negative reviews left before. I have many friends and acquaintances that have had their children attend as well. I do believe they are receiving the best education. They are very effective in building a comradery within the school. I feel my child is safe at school. You do not hear of any fights or trouble happening there. And it is a high school so that should speak for itself.I often hear of how they have guests at the school like professional athletes and professionals in business. It's exciting for the kids. They have fun activities. I really can't say enough in their favor.I have another son who hopefully will be attending in the future. I only advise to go to the open house and speak with parents who had their kids go to Columbus. The tuition is a bit pricey but I can tell you it is worth it (they offer scholorships).

I am surprised to read all the negative reviews here. Most of them are related to athletics. My son is not on any teams at school so I can only speak for the academics. My son assured me that he couldn’t have picked a better school for HS. He’s in the MÁS program and most recently the Scholars. It’s hard work but he loves it and says the teachers are great. He’s had opportunities with the MÁS program to go on university tours around the nation. Also most recently he was able to travel with a group to Texas border for the Encuentro project to the see for themselves what is happening, learn the facts about the legal issues of immigration, and come to understand what migrants are experiencing and why. The only negative is the lunch which from what I hear lines are very long and my son has lunch at 9:30 so but the time I pick him up he’s starving. My son has had some great teachers who really go above and beyond to ensure max learning. The campus has a college vibe.

This school is a haven for bullies, it goes out of its way to protect bullies from punishment, especially if the bully is also an athlete. I was bullied constantly during my four years of hell at that school, even some of the teachers joined in on the bullying. When I complained to administrators I was brushed off and told to suck it up. When I stood up for myself against an athlete, I was punished with 2 week suspension and after school detention for the rest of the semester. When a teacher started directing bullies to target me, I was kicked out of all my extracurricular activities when I went to the principal.

I graduated from Columbus a few years ago, and at the time, I thought it was a very good school that had given me lifelong friends, a quality education, a deep moral and religious grounding, and a strong sense of self. In the years since, I've realized how delusional I (and my parents) were. Columbus did more harm than good in helping us develop as young men (as the school loves to claim it does). I never felt like any teachers, advisors, and administrators were approachable or available to me—both academically and personally—and day-to-day operation of the school can be described with "Donnie Darko meets Lord of the Flies". Despite being in the "advanced" program, I felt just as unprepared for college and real life as the rest of the school. My parents have expressed similar sentiments about every aspect of the school, and have apologized to me multiple times for sending me there, wasting their money there, and setting me back years at a time when I should be maturing in all aspects. Talk about buyer's remorse.

I am so so happy that I am finally finished with this school. The fact that I never have to return to this place makes me ecstatic. During my time here I had the misfortune of dealing with some terrible teachers that assigned loads of busy work.. I only had a handful of quality teachers that taught and actually cared about my education. During my time here I played baseball and it was honestly the WORST baseball program I have ever been a part of. There is nothing good that came from my time there. They are clueless on what it means to be a quality coach and I have ZERO respect for the head coach. This corrupt program is all about money and donations and as a recent comment says paying under the table. The amount of negative things I can write about this program will take up all 1563 characters that this website allows me to use...

My oldest son graduated from Columbus in 2014. He came from a public school so the transition was a little difficult at first, especially the all boy part. He truly loved the school by the end of his freshman year. He had a wonderful experience both academically and in sports. Anytime I had a concern or an issue, it was taken care of by either a teacher or administration. He is doing great in college and is very proud to be an Explorer.

I've had two boys go though Christopher Columbus high school and I can sincerely say that it has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Columbus provides a both top-ranked academic and athletic environment each based on discipline and integrity which is without replication anywhere. I can sincerely say that the graduates at Columbus come out as men with traditional values and connections that will lead them to excellence throughout the rest of their lives.

Columbus is a top notch school. I am glad that I graduated from there. I feel I was well prepared for college and made friendships that will last forever. Everyone says that Columbus is only for athletes, but that is far from the truth. Everyone can find a niche there: You can be on the award winning TV crew (CCNN), you can be on a great debate or robotics team, you can lead the student body, you can be a MAS scholar, you can work the stage in drama, you can be highlighted in a museum if you are an art student, etc. The opportunities at Columbus are endless. Best school in Miami. Proud to be an EXPLORER!!!!

This school takes the 1st prize in hiding bad teachers, bullying and a baseball program that works as long as you pay the coaches under the table.

Bad education and bad sportsmanship. Is the school that parents love to say my son graduated from but the kids go thru hell.

Bar none...best HS for boys in South Florida. My son attended all 4 years and is graduating now fully prepared for college. He respects and adores the faculty and he shares a camaraderie with all students that is impressive. You can see it if you attend a few games or just any school activity...many of the teachers are ex alumni that have told me they loved the school so much they wanted to continue the legacy and give back by teaching there...in summary....AWESOME

CCHS is definitely a top notch school. One of the best all boy private schools in the US. The academics are significant, the students are very well mannered, and the educators are very well prepared and care for each student individually. My son is graduating this year and has had an amazing experience here! He doesn't want to graduate. CCHS has been great!

I have three sons and they all attended CCHS, two have graduated and the third is in his senior year. My sons are all proud of their school and claim they will send their boys there if they still live in the Miami area. From a parent's perspective, I've seen my boys grow up into caring, bright and responsible young men. They each handle their committments to academics differently and the school has placed them in a program that's both challenging but allows them to succeed. I am glad we made the decision to enroll them in this school.

This school promotes itself as having different academic levels. I'm very disappointed. The school places kids in honor classes due to placement tests. They don't look at the child's educational history. They place kids in honor and advanced classed then refuse to place the child at the proper academic level. They don't care if your child has struggled with a subject prior to entering this school. They rather allow your kid to be overwhelmed and fail over properly placing them at the right level. They promise they will work with your kid during open houses. Once your kid is in, they have no problem with setting up your child for failure. They see no correlation between a kids academic history and those placement tests they have. Unless your child is a brilliant kid don't come to this school. Theynhave zero experience dealing with add kids. They don't even seem to care.
