I love this school! My daughter is the most important thing in this world to me. The curriculum and staff ensure that her best interests are upfront! Best Charter School in Mesa AZ!

I had both my boys attend and I removed one who had adhd and a speech delay where I didn’t think they were taking it seriously. They were more of a wait until it happens then trying to prevent his delay gets worse since he should be reading soon. My oldest likes his friends but he went into middle school this year and I feel like a test in every subject is a struggle there is no stopping to make sure everyone understands they just move ahead. Overall I don’t see him continuing for the following year. And the clubs after school is a joke you have to pay for it for them to stay 30 mins do whatever the kids want because they never have enough teachers.

Our daughter has attended this school for 3 years Pre,K,1st. She has developed quickly before our eyes. She has picked up great habits in doing homework, reading, and has a very healthy relationship with her responsibilities between school and home and this is because she really enjoys the teachers and program of Self Development Academy.

Terrible school! The principal is a joke. Please consider a different school. The teachers are fake.

We can’t say enough about this school. Need more than 5 stars! Teachers and staff are very caring and concerned about their students’ education. Lots of interaction with parents. I highly recommend.

My daughter attends the East Mesa location and I love the teachers here, my child enjoys school more now than before. You can always tell how efficient the staff is by how well your child is developing, learning and the progress that they're making. I can truly say we have made so much progress in such a short period of time, I am truly grateful.

The preschool and charter have always been a safe place to send our 3 kids. We are thankful to have found Self Development Academy and preschool.

As an employee and a parent at Self Development Academy, I feel fortunate to be a part of such an enriching environment. The staff goes out of their way to make sure that my son is safe and nurtured. We attended other schools and we cannot believe the progress he made in his first year at Self Development Academy.

I was very impressed with the learning my niece and nephew received. I also enjoyed going to school events because it was such a nurturing and welcoming environment.

This school helped me become who I am today. I entered high school taking many honors and higher level classes.

Having my family attend this school was the best decision we could have made. This is true for them academically, as well as, as developing them into respectful citizens.

Horrible. My daughter was being bullied in preschool. And I was a teacher at the school and they still didn’t stop the bullying

I am so glad that my family found this school. They are truly a child centered school and they work to ensure each child is successful. I believe that the expansion has been a great thing as it allows more families to have the opportunity to attend such a great school.

Horrific, do not send your children here. The expansion was poor choice and has overwhelmed the staff and it is now effecting the students.

My child will not be returning into the 1st grade. The only reason we stayed this long despite all of the incidence we've had is due to some of the established friendships our child has made. Ultimately because of the mass information and rigorous memorization my childs been programmed into hes not gaining the proper knowledge in his ability to sustain and retain. The learning environment is packed with kids and I find it hard to imagine he is able to benefit. My child is exhausted everyday he comes home. Chaotic environment and not enough staff to watch the kids when outside. If they are they are usually on the cell phone. I've observed from my car while in parent pick up in back. I'm leery of the district ratings because this was highly ranked. Listen to your kids and really question the validity of the claims. From what I've gathered it only gets worse in the sink or swim mentality. Sadly had our experience been a more positive transition from the daycare to school we may have contemplated. But as they say "when they show you who they are, believe them".

Overall good but would be great with a bit of improvement. There is no art, very limited time for PE, recess, foreign language, technology and music. Kids need more outlets, they're not cookie cutter students. Bullying and favoritism need to be dealt with and not marginalized.
