O’Connor Elementary is amazing! I’ve had five of my six kids in O’Connor and all are or have excelled there. Every teacher my kids have had os thoughtful, caring and concerned for their well-being. We’ve been through three or four principals over the last 18 years and while all of them have been wonderful, the current principal, Dr. Tinich, is BEYOND amazing. She is off the charts intelligent, cares for all students and as I’ve gotten to know her, it’s apparent that she wants the best for her students, staff and the community.

The principal is terrible. This used to be a 9/10 school then Tinich took over and everything declined. My kids excitement for school and learning has also declined. She is rude and dismissive to parents. Every teacher has been excellent though.

It was a great school before the new principal took over (Dr Tinich) in 2022-2023. Now since she started it’s so strict, I had one of their staff members compared it to boot camp. The new principal took away access to the playground in the morning, no snacks allowed during breaks, no recess for 6th graders but a 10 minute break, etc. It’s gotten really bad since she started, so many staff members and students left. I tried addressing a bully incident with the principal but she just shrugged it off… it’s terrible. Hopefully they get a better principal because imo she’s ruining the school. It’s no fun there, my kids don’t enjoy school as much anymore because of her.

Teachers, Principal and staff here are dedicated to educating ALL their students, no matter their strengths or challenges.

Excellent! The principal is very approachable and opened minded which makes it easier to address any issues if any. A welcoming and friendly head of a school makes a big difference. I truly believe this is what separates Sandra O'Connor School from other schools.

The principle is very nice he really tries to communicate with parents when needed and is very helpful. There are a few really great teachers their. Their PE program is great and so is their kindergarten program. The computer lab teachers are awesome. The food is not very good nor very healthy we always packed our lunch. The school security measures could be improved. The staff for the kids with special needs isn't very good so I sent two of my children to other schools with better programs. I have seen some of the teachers yell at parents and children. The staff that works in the office except for the school nurse are very crabby to kids and parents.

My 3 children attend this school and I am very pleased with the teachers. Just last week my son's teacher called me, she noticed my son was having a hard time hearing, I appreciated her concern and watchfulness over my son! After the phone call I had a conversation with my son, we both agreed he will get a hearing exam done.

Sister of a Student: Doesn't handle special needs students well. They don't treat special need children with the right way. The staff is know to have yell at students and parents for unreasonable reasons. I worry for students attending this school.
