This school is full of behavior problems so it's hard for the other students to learn and be successful. Would never recommend this school-try another option.

1. No strong discipline structure or behavioral plan. With that being sad, this school accepts all disciplinary students that are expelled from other schools. This would not be so bad if the reasons the children were expelled were not dangerous ones. (Kid stabbed another kid in the eye because he was angry!) It's all about filling up classrooms, not safety.2. Principal does not understand the culture or cultural dynamics of the young African American youth. She is not preparing them for the very different world they face versus the one she was faced with. 3. Teachers are not truly supported or valued.4. Students are able to attack teachers without any consequences. 5. Principal is willing to reflect on teachers characters and abilities but not her own leadership skills and traits.6. Principal will only accept ideas if she does not have to be leadership to follow through with them- passes the responsibility down. 7. The budget is always tight when it comes to school supplies but there is always room for luncheons, drinks at bar loueys, and trips out of town. 8. The principal does not have the understanding that teachers have family outside of work hours.9. Parents are prohibited from disciplining their kids because it is not how the principle was raised. She looks down on it.10. The building is always hot and having air conditioning troubles. However kids are not allowed to phone home despite the classroom being 80 degrees. 11. Third graders went weeks without a teacher. They were placed in lower grades to learn, run errands, or be mini assistansts. They were not being taught and the principal felt it wasn't her duty to teach those children despite the losing almost 4 weeks of learning instruction. Coaching teachers who are capable of teaching was more important. 12. The finger gets pointed alot; The blame game so to speak.13. Open door policy means people are able to walk freely amongst the children with no background check or notice to the teachers.
