This was one of the best schools I ever attended I had one English teacher who was a very lovely talented lady she took me in and taught me well she took me from making straight Fs to making Straight A's I received an award for akademiks for the most improved student a savings Bond for 1000 dollars or saving certificate back then it was the best thing that ever happened to me &the meal it was one of the best meals I ever had from the famous haha Peabody Hotel and the Ducks I remember the Ducks LOL. i know that don't sound like much today but it certainly was to me it was the difference to a child like me it was 2 me it was more than enough because I had no idea that I was going to receive an award for school back then no it just didn't happen but yes it did and it does make all the difference in a child's life and I just want to say thank you to Snowden Middle School she was the best teacher I ever had she's probably gone now passed away now she's living up there with the angels I will always remember her and still want to say thank you to let people know it was a blessing to me and that she was loved and appreciated she was a extraordinary teacher and 2 let people know there are good people some who make a difference in people's life and she sure made the difference in me

I would rate my experience the highest it could be rated . Great school the teachers blew my mind how they are concerned about the students learning. My kids came to this school and I noticed the change, my second grader was understanding and becoming independent on doing her assignments. My seventh grader received all the accommodations he needed ! And I’m not just saying anything but the teachers are the best when it comes to teaching they really care about the students, and I know it’s a hard job, but sometimes all these kids need is to know that they care and willing to help them !

My mom and I was there for the first time at lunch with grandparents day.. My grandson was excited we were going to be there. We arrive early at the office. We Walked to the lunch room 30 min early ,before the children showed up only to find out I needed a ticket to get our lunch and the teacher had them. I did not know what she looked like had to ask someone , I found Eli he was eating already. Finally I found her got the tickets then had to stand n a long line to get our food. More kids were coming n it was chaos I had my mom set next to Eli to visit with him.while I stool n line for 15 minutes of his lunch..I believe it could of been handled a lot bettet. There was to much choas for the grandparents n kids....I did love the pictures that the school took of us...I plan on going back on another day to have lunch with him.

This school has great teachers and great programs. The parent and community support are incredible. My son is challenged academically and accepted socially. This is a great school.

I really used to love this school. I spent 2 years trying to get my children into this school. It has always been known for excellence. Well Snowden had completely fallen off. The new administration: principal, and the vice principals can not handle the job they signed up for. The children don't even walk down the hall the same way. The better teachers are quitting left and right all the way down to the end of the school year, they're still quitting. I am very disappointed in the way this school has turned. Is this all schools? ?

awesome...i have a child that went to snowden and i love how generally accepting they are of different beliefs and religions and views on things in the world. One day my daughter came home saying she made a new female friend (other than her best friend who didn't go to school with her) She said that her friend was holding hands with this other girl and hug her all the time. (she didn't know her friend was you know what....) so i didn't tell her that. The other students seem generally accepting... and nice to that little girl .So i knew this was a good school.. and academically she was excelling in all areas. To this day she is she is still a great student and is still friends with that girl... they hang out from time to time and they are the best of friends. Snowden, has made her the accepting and sweet smart person she is today. great for parents too... nice student learning enrichment programs.

Snowden is a wonderful community driven school. It is the best in midtown. They have a great academic program as well as highly respected musical and artistic offerings.

Snowden is an amazing school. It has so much to offer to all children. Every teacher works extremely hard to meet the needs of all students. My child is in one of the inclusion classes. At first I was worried that my child wouldn't get what they needed but I was so wrong. My child is thriving in that classroom! I know that she is a better person now and she has learned many skills necessary for growing up in a diverse culture. Her teacher has done a wonderful job creating a community in the classroom. My daughter is always excited to go to school!

Snowden is our wonderful neighborhood school. Everything about it feels like a family. Academics are as important as music, the arts, and culture. Mr. Thompson, the principal, is the kindest, most approachable & hard-working person we've encountered. Snowden has a great community of parents and grandparents, neighbors, and alum who love to support this school. We could not be happier with this sweet school.

Snowden is a good school. This is our first year there but we like it. The principal, Mr. Thompson, is one of the best. He is always visible and is active in the entire day. I see him almost every morning outside with the kids when I take my kids to school. His staff is good also. They are on top of things. You can stop him and talk to him at anytime about any of your concerns. The students know that he is always around. He will respond to your emails and calls. We made a good choice in choosing Snowden. We have 3 kids at Snowden and they love it. My 6th grader has made some friends. The school does not tolerate bullying and I really like that. The signs that say "No bullying" are all over the campus and they constantly have no-bullying rallys. The Clue program is awesome and the clue teacher Mrs. Bergman is one of the best that we've ever seen. My kids are enjoying it. The only thing that I would like to see is a larger cafeteria or 2 cafeterias. Snowden is a large school and it's difficult to feed PK - 8th grade in one cafeteria. There is plenty of parent involvement too which is great.

I was a student at Snowden from grade 1-7. I have very fond memories of it. The teachers are dedicated, and for the most part I really enjoyed it. The only problems I remembered affecting the student was the lack of funding. I am in 10th grade at a middle tn school and its shocking how much extra cash these schools have to blow on big tvs for every room in the school, yet memphis city schools are struggling to get by. I will always love Snowden School, and If I ever live in memphis again thats where my kids will be going.

Snowden is such an amazing school. The faculty truly go above and beyond in their efforts to provide top quality education to a diverse population. There's not a private school in Memphis that I'd choose over our neighborhood public school.

I am currently a student at Snowden, planning to go to Central next year. I have been at Snowden all of my life, and while I am quite tired of it now, I think it has been a wonderful 9 years. I met many new people of different races, religions, and backgrounds, while still learning and having fun.

This diverse staff prepares children for the standardized test and for life. The school's philosophy appears to be to prepare the child for the path, not the vice versa. Some communities may have the luxury of coddling and acting as buffers for their young ones. In Memphis, we do not. Work hard. Get organized. No excuses. Form bonds with your peers and your teachers. Real strategies for the real world. My daughter is a product of the Memphis City School (Snowden and Central) and she scored 5's on all AP exams and 29 on ACT as sophomore, and we are not brainiacs. I'm telling you. Work hard. Get organized. No excuses. It works.
