All three of my children have thrived here at Ola Elementary and the support they have received is incredible. I can’t say enough great things! Mrs. Edwards is phenomenal and both counselors as well as Mrs. Tatum have provided continuous support to my children and family. Great staff and wonderful teachers!

The faculty at Ola Elementary is so kind and helpful. My daughter often comes home excited to tell me about her day’s events. I know she is getting a well-rounded education here.

We could not have asked for a better elementary school experience. This area has been amazing for my young children.

They librarian said “you people” to my son and yes he’s African American, when we reported it to the principle, she advised us it was against the law to know what course of action was given. They have been consistently suspending him from school for petty things. He’s in the 5th grade I’m so glad this is his last year. I’ve never seen a victim that has been attacked get suspended for defending themselves. Like the Principle Amanda says it’s in the rule book.

This school has a lot of problems, which start from their leadership on down to the teachers, faculty and substitute teacher’s. The administration chooses to enact bully tactics instead of positive re-enforcement! They also choose to punish all children for other children behaviors. I can’t believe the ratings that have been used on the Greet Schools website. We are they getting their information from! There are students that are the spectrum that should be in special education classroom settings. Instead the are in class with other students which has caused a lot of issues for the students and the teachers alike. The substitute teachers that are utilized during the regular teachers absence are either lacking in subject knowledge or are belligerent to the children! This has all been brought to the current administrations attention. Instead of them choosing to work with parents and assisting the children to succeed, they choose to recite terminology and or policies from their playbook (school handbook). There are a lot of gifted students at this school. Unfortunately in the past two years the gifted teachers have decided to move on to other schools. I wonder why!

Ola is not that great like everyone thinks....its just ok. Very overcrowded due to people coming over the boarders from other district because they think its the "it school". They don't do as many cool fun activities and field trips as other neighboring schools either. Seems like Rock Springs, New Hope and Union Grove may be a little better. IEP program is below average. Its an good school though, just not great.

I've been told by several parents that there is a lot of racism in this school. Have anyone else experience this problem?

The administration and staff are 100% there for the kids. They go above and beyond to make sure all of the children have what they need to be successful students.

We love Ola Elementary!! We have three children currently enrolled and moved from a private school to get special education services for our youngest. I never imagined a school with so many kids could have a loving and warm environment, but it does! The teachers are so loving, supportive and wonderful. The office staff are very helpful and always show appreciation to parent volunteers for coming in to help. Mr. Stephens is awesome!! The assistant principals have been very helpful when needed. The PTA does a great job raising money for Ola. We also have a very sweet and patient bus driver! We love it!!

Ola Elementary is no better than any other public school. The teachers for the most part seem fine....However The Principal Mr. Stephens really needs to work on his personal skills. He is very rude and never speaks. If you are going to be a principal you should have a good parent relationship. Work on it!

Ola Elementary is over rated~ We have been at ola for the past 5 years and it's ok. We have had some really awful teachers in the past, once my son was not allowed to use the restroom before leaving school and had an accident bc he was last off the bus, I was furious! My son was bullied and I brought it up to administration several times and noone ever called me back and did anything about it, so I taught my son to take up for himself and fight back! Now he isn't bullied, and no he's not a trouble maker either, he just defends himself! This year has been ok, both of my children got pretty good teachers, but there in my opinion isn't very good communication! Overall it's ok, not the best and really no different than any of the other school's in Henry Co.
