With the new principal in place this year and last this school have improved tremendously. I have a son with ASD and this is the first school he has attended that made him feel welcomed . They have also helped him achieve a lot of his goals in his IEP.

If you have children 4 to 11 do not move to Matteson. Teachers at Mayra Yates screams and belittle children. If you have children attending this school ask them everyday how do they be treated at this school by the students and the staff. They take up for each over and principal just as wrong as the teachers

Horrible. Teachers are lany they sceam at students. Low rate and belittle students for no reason. Intimated them. Parents please question your children about how these teachers treat them or other children and what they witness

I rate it a two because other schools can access their children work via the internet. Having access to my child’s homework & school work via the internet would allow one to see daily where their child stand in class. It would also keep parents alert on whether their child is falling behind. Parents would be able to contact the teacher to uncover if the child can makeup assignments or ask further questions on how one can assist them at home.

Principal Woods and the Boardmembers could do more to increase the academic integrity of this school. The kids need more field trips, more extracurricular activities, more physical education! I am hopeful for the upcoming school year.

The teachers are wonderful! My daughter loves going to school each day. I cannot say enough great things about the teachers.

I am sorry this school is not great! I've lived in this neighborhood for over 20 years and I've sent 2 kids here. But had to take them out. Horrible attitudes by Dr. Woods and some of the staff. Decline in test scores and failing academics are just major things wrong! Dr. woods needs to be replaced as well as some of the older teachers. Private school would be your better choose.

My kids go to this school..I feel they need more extra curriculum activities, honor classes for kids that is more advanced then others..However there are some good teachers at this school. The school gets 3 stars from me
