Sauder Elementary in Massillon, Ohio received a grade of "F" on the official state report card with regards to accommodating students with disabilities. What an embarrassment that the administration of such a "wealthy" public school district has failed to meet the educational needs of our weakest and least able children. The State of Ohio has issued a "failing" grade to this school because special needs children are not being adequately educated in the Jackson Local School District (a district that BRAGS non-stop about the high quality of the administrators). Accountability for a grade of "F" lies with the administration. Perhaps changes need to be made. Reassign or terminate ineffective administrators. The property taxes are very high in the JLSD and it is inexcusable to "fail" with educating the special needs population when the economic RESOURCES are there to hire, terminate, reassign, and ultimately retain better Special Services staff. The special needs children deserve to be educated just as much as the gifted students do.
