My children attended Taft for kindergarten through 2nd grade. The teachers, office staff and principal are amazing. It seems every staff member in the school know my children and family by name. My youngest is having a hard time learning to read and they have gone above and beyond to help her be successful. The principal makes herself available to the students and families, any concerns have always been immediately addressed. The Milford market, which rewards kids for being well behaved is ingenious. I have always felt my kids aren't only safe at Taft but loved.

As a college biology professor I've seen it all. My daughters attend Taft and are doing exceptionally well and have made friends across all races and ethnicity. They are in a blended 1st/2nd grade class (they are in first grade). I am excited by the class setup as they have: accelerated reader (reading) Iready (reading and math) firstinmath (math) as continual reinforcements to their daily curriculum. They have routine larger projects which help to leverage knowledge they have accumulated. Face value after almost 2 years there... is an excellent job.

School is better than good. I have had children attend Taft since it became an elementary school. They score Advanced or Accelerated on OAAs. The teachers have all connected with each child. They have never been bullied, although there seems to be a screwball in thier classes each year.

The school is not a safe learning environment! My child has been bullied all year the principal Scott Esoprite has not done anything and blows it off as kids being kids. I had to call the sheriff to handle this problem. It was not a punch here and there. When your child needs medical attention due to school bully's it serious. I have removed my child from Taft and gone to a different school. The teachers are not much better it's a joke that this can go on and no ones cares.
