This school is for the gifted children. The average child will do fine. They will do fine anywhere they go. If you child has any special needs, or difficulties well that is another story. Getting help from this school is like getting blood out of a turnip. Parents have to fight to get the supports they need. If your child needs help be prepared to teach them yourself. I work in the Bellmore school district and the amount of support they provide their students who need extra help is amazing. Teachers in Bellmore reach out to the parents to discuss how they can work together to help the children. In Fairfield parents have to be extra vigilant. You can't wait for the teachers to contact you. If you wait it will be the end of the school year until you find out your child is having problems. By then it is too late and your child has lost an entire year. I have found over the years by speaking with other parents that this problem is not just restricted to Fairfield. If you can avoid the Massapequa school district then run unless your child is a talented sportsman or gifted. On behalf of Massapequa, they offer the gifted amazing programs.

This school is amazing. As a Fairfield alumni myself, I was proud to share this elementary experience with my own children. Massapequa does have a uniqueness about it where many who grew up here choose to raise their children here. There is a reason for that, the schools! Fairfield has a new principal and assistant which are doing a fine job. they are constantly visible in the school and at school events in the evenings. they are respected and liked by the children. It seems as though each grade has a balance of teachers as far as some being more easy going, some firm fair and consistent and some more strict. I feel the staff and administrators know which children will flourish with specific teachers. We have to allow our children to be exposed to all different styles of teaching because lets face it, in the real world we do not get to choose our boss. We need to be flexible and resilient. Fairfield gets the job done. I have enjoyed being able to participate in trips and school events even though I am a full-time working parent. You are involved as much as you want to be.
