Maria Regina is an excellent K-8 Catholic school with the highest academic standards in the area. The school is inclusive and celebrates diversity, and offers a safe and nurturing environment for students to learn and grow. With a variety of extracurricular activities and opportunities for parental involvement, Maria Regina provides a well-rounded education that prioritizes Catholic values and social responsibility. I highly recommend this school to families seeking a strong Catholic education for their children.

Maria Regina School is a community that we have cherished for the last 6 years. The staff and teachers are all hands on and dedicated to providing fun and educational experiences for their students. We couldn't be happier with our decision to chose Maria Regina School. The principal is amazing -- he knows all the students by name, greets them every morning as they arrive, and even will get slimed, participate in a slam dunk contest, and race the students during lunch. Maria Regina also offers a wide range of academic resources and extra curricular activities including STEM, Technology, Academic Intervention Services (AIS), Thespian Club, Sports Clubs (starting in Pre-k), Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and many more. They have also done a fantastic job navigating Covid. We love Maria Regina.

We are so happy we chose Maria Regina after our previous Catholic school closed! The transition has been seamless and everyone we have met has been great! My children have made wonderful friends (even through social distancing and COVID) and we are so grateful for our new MR family!

We have been with Maria Regina for 3 years now and in the thick of Covid! We have been so blessed to continue learning and having a happy and healthy environment for our two boys learn and grow!!Teacher, staff, peers & community is the best! We have developed lifelong friendships here & our kids are eager to go to school every morning!

We had such a wonderful experience with Maria Regina’s early childhood program that we decided to leave our son here for elementary school. Typically a “nervous Nellie ” our son is very comfortable with the small, family atmosphere here. When you drop your child off to school, it’s a wonderful feeling to hear the principal and teachers greeting him by name. As a public school teacher, I was initially worried about a catholic school keeping up with the times. However, Maria Regina’s curriculum, use of technology, and extra curricular activities have all exceeded my expectations!

We absolutely love Maria Regina School! It has been the best decision we have made for our children. They continue to flourish all thanks to the excellent teachers, staff and the amazing school principal. They truly care about the children and it’s such a wonderful school community. No doubt Maria Regina is one of the best Catholic schools on Long Island.

There is not much supervision in this school. Recess is a free for all where children are often getting hurt due to the lack of supervision. They allow all grades to attend recess together with inadequate adult supervision. The principal only cares about fundraising and acts like he wants parent input, but is not very receptive when approached. Communication is also lacking amongst teachers and parents. If you are looking for a school that is consistent with Catholic morals I suggest you look at some of the other local Catholic Schools. It is not unfathomable that they are charging families money for volunteer hours that they did not fulfill during a pandemic, where volunteering was not option for some due to the threat of Covid! Other local Catholic Schools waived this requirement this year due the circumstances. Maria Regina is about the money and tuition not about the “family” they claim to be.

All of the early childhood classes are overcrowded and lack the proper supervision required by law. The Principal only cares about profiting from the early childhood program. When a teacher has an issue with your child they tell you to get them evaluated by the school district so they can get an aide, which gives them extra help in the classroom for free. When your district comes back and tells you that your child will receive nothing because they are a normal toddler, the school will outcast your child and keep requesting more evaluations. We wanted our child to stay there up until high school but they've just convinced us to send them to public school.

Unfair to many teachers and children. They do not treat all children equal.

Since enrolling at Maria Regina in 2016 we have come to love the school, teachers, students & parents we have met. For us Maria Regina feels like home it’s a place where my children have made friends, thrived socially/academically, learned about God & are able to attend Church on Sundays with their peers & teachers. It’s an extremely welcoming, nurturing and intellectually challenging environment. The N and Pre-K program academically prepares the children for Kindergarten. When my oldest started K i was impressed with the services and activities they offer including specialized math and reading teachers that push into the class several times a week, Spanish, STEM, cheerleading, lego club, FAST sports program, & Girl Scouts. There are also a lot of family fun night/weekend events. It’s so amazing to be part of a school where staff, teachers, and families not in your child’s class personally know you and your children and truly care about them.

Second to none! This is a wonderful place where Christian families can rest assured that their children are being cared for in a morally and educationally sound manner. Come see for yourself!

This used to be a great school, but now is a sinking ship! The lack of quality at the middle school level, and a principal with about as much warmth as the iceberg the Titanic hot has pushed the school into a downward spiral. Maria Regina in previous years had 2 classes for each grade, now they only have 1 class per grade! Interesting how the surrounding Catholic schools have 2 classes for each grade with waiting lists! I hope you do not consider sending your children to this school because you will realize what a deficit your children will have when its too late. Music with a teacher who screams at the children, Science with a teacher who should not be teaching children. She belittles and picks on students. Math with a teacher who is clearly of her element and talks a good game. A book can have a great cover-but when you start reading the pages.....Clearly the parents who claim their children are thrivining are either in denial or can't see the handwriting on the wall. Save your money and look elsewhere,

Like any other school- this school is not perfect and has its flaws. Some kids will thrive and some will not. A major flaw is there are not many teachers in the upper grades to teach certain subjects. You have the same teacher teaching you a particular subject for the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Unfortunately, if your child has a bad experience with this teacher, he or she is stuck with that teacher and your child's life is miserable four years. Do your research and ASK parents whose children attended the school. Much more valuable information than a tour.

This school is a wonderful and safe environment. My children have been in this school for 4 years now. The teachers are great and my children are thriving. Some of these nasty comments are disheartening. Check the school out yourself and see how wonderful it is. Best decision I ever made to invest in my children by sending them here.

This is a horrible school. In the past few years things have changed dramatically --for the worst! especially in the middle school ( grades 5-8). The children are constantly being threatened with demerits and detention. The teachers do not seem to care about the students and quite often speak to them with unkind words which in unacceptable for a Catholic school. Also, the "favoritism" that the teachers and faculty show certain students is unbelievable. These same favorite students are usually hand picked by the teachers to read in class, participate in Mass and have their photos posted on the school website! Many families have stopped attending school functions and fundraisers due to their lack of enthusiasm about the school. Theses past few years there has also been a mass exit of this school due to it being the principal's way or no way. Run!!! don't walk away from this school

Amazing school and community where my children thrive in a faith filled setting. Could not be happier!

They really do not care about kids. The teachers cannot make a move without the principal who is just not a nice person. My child's teacher talked about him to other children in the class, telling them there was "something wrong with him". Same teacher suggested directly to my child that he should go back to his old school. I am not saying my son is perfectly behaved all the time but who talks to a 5 year old like that? Are these people you want your kids around? Mine are happy and safe a new school!

We have been in this school for 2 years now and it has been the best experience ever. The teachers are amazing and staff is so caring. It is like a big family that watches over each other. The academics are wonderful and they us all the latest technology. Don't believe the haters and see for yourself. It is a wonderful school

I have experienced such a HORRIBLE experience with this school that I would not recommend it to anyone. The new Principal Mrs. Arpino does not care about the child, just about the tuition payments. The school has no polices or protocol for anything in writing, nor does Mrs. Arpino feel the need to do so. She refers you to the handbook which was printed ten years ago. My son was suppose to begin pre-k there and i was appalled with her unprofessionalism and that of some of the teachers that I would not even send him on the second day of school. Don't both asking this school questions, the answer you get it "I will get back to you". No thanks! I will take my money and go somewhere else.
