  Raising twin boys can sometimes be a challenge and Mandalay Elementary School in south Wantagh was the perfect fit for us. They treated each of my sons as an individual and took the time to help them learn the skills they needed to grow into smarter, responsible little people! The teachers and kind, patient, and well-qualified in their vocation. They have a great balance of both senior teachers with lots of experience, and the newer generation of teachers who bring a wonderful level of enthusiasm.

  The 3 elementary schools have undergone some major upgrades in the resources they offer their students. Wonderful nurturing teachers are at Mandalay Elementary, and I have heard excellent feedback from parents whose children attend the other 2 elementary schools. Now that the pandemic is mostly over the students are able to engage in fun and enriching activities once again as well that each school offers.

  I know the Beech Street Elementary School building(s) were expanded to accommodate booming student enrollment during 1999-2005, but since the student enrollment has now decreased significantly (at least 20%) what is Wantagh School Board’s rationale for raising taxes to educate 20% fewer students?

  Great elementary school, provides a strong fundemental base for the childs further learning. Strong teachers, good administration and strong parent involvement through the PTA. The school is quite large for an elementary school.

  I have quadruplets so I have the unique opportunity to see each grade through the majority of teachers in that grade as my children are all in separate classes. The teachers in Wantagh Elementary School are knowledgeable, creative, loving, concerned, accomodating and hard working. The Principal has earned the NYState Principal of the Year award and deserves every accolade! The Assistant Principal is wonderful with the children and runs a tight ship! The PTA is strong and does great things for the kids and the staff of the entire school. We have mainstream and inclusion students in every grade and a strong related services team. Our administration really listens when our parents voice our opinions and moves quickly to work together utilizing all the available resources. It is a wonderful environment to raise and educate children in!

  The teachers go above and beyond what is required of them to ensure our children get the best possible education.
