Best High School in the entire school district. Would absolutely recommend this place!

My son graduated from MP senior High. He had incredible opportunities there such as an award winning robotics club with mentors from the community and support from the school. He also had a wonderful experience in his higher level classes in which the teachers were knowledgeable and accessible. The principle is highly ethical and inclusive and works very hard to keep the campus safe and with open communication. This school was also challenging and taught my son how to study and learn. My son was accepted into several universities for an engineering degree and continues to do well in his studies.

Awful. If I had to do it all over again I would have moved somewhere else so my children would have had a decent, humanitarian school experience.

Average with episodes of bad taste coming from teachers, secretaries, counselors.

Some of the counselors here are horribly out of line. Maple Grove has some of the nicest most down to earth people, but the administrators and faculty are a joke. I was advised not to take ANY AP classes, even though I am qualified and I believe I am ready and excited for an academic challenged. When I tried to enroll they made me take study hall because apparently I had, "too many credits" I feel like they are stealing away any possibility of a learning experience. I'm glad I've transferred, because this schools culture, student body and counselors are terrible.

There are some good teachers here, but the kids are ridiculously entitled. They aspire to be like an adjacent, wealthy district (Wayzata), and they are not even close. They want what they want, and they think they should have it now. If you are able to access social media and find any of them on there, it is eye-opening. I would not send my kids to school here. Hats off to the principal for attempting to instill character in them with the "Crimson Way" (for which the school was recognized). But you can't change the student body. They are getting the wrong messages from their parents, and most kids are spoiled and act like it. The kids who have more middle-class values have a very small peer group and are hyperfocused on post-high school plans.

I am a prior student that attended maple grove senior for all three years. This school is biased and unprofessional. If you weren't involved in sports or theater there was no place for you. Dispite this i dis make friends there just werent any club/ activities for us to do or join. The staff, especially admin, are ridiculous. Some were overly friendly with students and others you didn't dare talk to or go to with problems for the fear you'd be yelled at or talked down to. My sister still attends the school and says the same things are still happening and the admin is worse than ever. My suggestion is this, unless you are a jock or into music or theater, go to a different school. You will make some friends but there is no place you belong at the actual school. The only way I felt comfortable was in art. The teacher was amazing and didnt choose favorites like many others did.

I am a teacher at MGSH. There is high turnover in teachers, administration, and classes. The administration is distant and unsupportive. The classes are overcrowded and extremely tracked. The pep fests get dangerously out of control, And at dances the grinding is just wrong. The kids at this school think they are running the place. It will get much worse when budget cuts come.

I moved to Maple Grove from a small farm town with my two daughters who averaged 42 children per grade there. My oldest started 10th grade in MGSH with 575 students. It was intimidating to her at first with no friends at all. Her first comments were how acedemically hard it was. She was an A student in the small school. She was in one AP in MG. By mid-year she actually said to me, "I know it is hard mom but it is really good for me for getting ready to go to college. I think I will do much better now." It was music to my ears. She is shy but made friends along the way and gained a lot of respect for herself. The foundations program is very impressive. She loved the pepfests! She said mom, everyone does. Group involvement is awesome. I can't tell you how happy I am we moved here. It was the best decision I could make for my daughters. The school deserves more than a 10 in my eyes.
