The academic opportunity is fantastic for a student that is given support to be in charge of their learning. Our scholar has flourished by utilizing her talents she has discovered. When a child has positive support outside of school they can do amazing things at school. Some of the faculty are top rated. They take the time to know the students and encourage the to stretch. The curriculum is a classical with STEM classes, Latin, Greek, Spanish, cursive, reading are core inclusive with critical thinking. The opportunity to learn public speaking ,outstanding study habits and time management is encouraged starting in Prima. We have been at Parnassus for Prima, Grammar, Logic, and now Rhetoric. They offer AP classes and a Classical diploma. They do not celebrate holidays… but learn about them all. It is very diversified. Representing all ethnicities and faiths. They have an abundance of clubs and sports. Chess, Youth in Government, Mode United Nations, track, Cross Country, Nordic Skiing, golf, fencing, basket ball, soccer, publishing, economics club, quizbowl, mathematics club, drama, mock trial, and more. Partnering with other school for some…. offering even more people to meet for kids. Their Spring Formal (Prom) has been stated to be the “best ever “. Some students may claim it to be strict and those who have left have called it all sorts of things negative. They wear uniforms, and if your kiddo chooses to follow the academic path and go to school for focused learning, balancing additional extra-curricular activities outside of school for fun. Then this is a great match. My child loves to read we encouraged reading, and talking, instead of computers and tv so much in the beginning of life for my kiddo. We participated in teaching her to read early on. Not by banning TV, or PC options… but not encouraging it. We have always told kids they are in charge of their education. We as parents are here to support when needed. Let us know… I will show up. I am a cheer leader for my student. Parnassus Preparatory School allows a child to think, and become an individual absolutely to be proud of.

I am a former student, I graduated May 2022 and I have to say, this school molded me into who I am today. Regarding workload,This school is hard, they waste no time showing you so. This is a college prep school and while their homework is still very much to a highschool and middleschool level, they intentionally give you quite allot to do. This is meant to build habits with workload. There is no time to procrastinate. As other parents mentioned this is a whole family commitment, your child needs your support and I'm grateful for both my wonderful parents.I would recromend to any parent the send their child to parnassus.

Started out great but with new administration came new, pervasive, and unbearable changes. Some administrators suck all the fun out of everything for students.

Terrible. They don't know how to deal with difficult problems. Limited resources. Some schools staffs included teachers, and others are rude.

The curriculum and workload at Parnassus are not for everyone. It is a complete family commitment. If you are looking for a true college prep school that will have your children ready for success at the highest levels I would highly recommend Parnassus.

the school staff are very disrespectful and will treat like one of their student. the lady at front desk is very rude. the school don't want the parent to be involved. we being yelled so many times. I called the principle left message for call back. she called and let my the phone ring twice before i answered... she was gone. we have no option but to look for another school. I like the school, but they are too much now.

I couldn't be more proud of the founders of Parnassus. To see the accomplishments this school has made is nothing short of amazing. There is NO comparison to the education my granddaugthers are receiving at Parnassus vs. that which other grandchildren are receiving at public schools--wish all my grandchildren could experience the education at Parnassus.

Very focused syllabus with complete dedication towards preparing kids from students to scholars. Teachers are very hard working and equally focus on every student.

Parnassus is not for everyone. It offers a wonderful (and free) alternative for families seeking a rigorous curriculum built on the great books of Western Civilization. Kids study reading, math, history, science, grammar, penmanship and writing, Spanish and Latin every day. The day is focused on education -- not parties, silly sock day. Kids wear a uniform, sit in rows facing forward (not in pods) and stand up to answer questions in class. Test scores are significantly better than the district and most other charter schools in the area. Moreover, kids have a strong working knowledge of literature, history, geography, Spanish, Latin by the time they are approaching their upper school years.
