Has so much potential. Sports activities seem to be the main concern. Children fall behind only to be diverted to a private out of pocket tutor. Children who excel have to sit in class and be bored out of their minds because there aren’t any enrichment programs to help develop their natural learning path. “Sports help with teamwork and mental health.” How about when a child is not looking forward to going to school because they are so far behind, their self confidence is destroyed??? How about supporting teachers who are overwhelmed with students with behavior problems or aren’t even prepared to be in a school setting because parents do not teach these children to hold a pencil or potty train them?There is a reason why this district has been ranked among the bottom of the barrel! Average will be average and remain there.

Fulmar Road School is an amazing place. The teachers are caring, creative and dedicated. There are a wide range of affordable after school programs including a coding bootcamp, musical theatre, art, sewing, tai kwon do, and math basketball. There is a trail adjacent to the school and teachers bring the kids out on hikes and nature walks. The Principal is very hands on and leads by example. I suspect the ranking reflects the fact that a lot of parents opt out of state tests. It certainly does not reflect the learning environment. Fulmar does a great job supporting students with different learning styles and academic orientations. My husband and I both attended costly private schools with high rankings on this site. We consider Fulmar to be in every way superior to the experience these schools offered. If you are considering moving to Mahopac, talk to parents about Fulmar Road School. The feedback will be overwhelmingly positive.

We had 3 children attend Fulmar and they all had an extraordinary experience. From developing a love of reading to partaking in myriad fun events and dozens of exciting and interactive programs, there was a vast and deep offering that fostered tremendous personal growth in an overwhelmingly positive environment.We view the Mahopac Schools as unambiguously underrated.Go Pac!

This school has the best teachers and staff I have ever encountered. My ddaughter has sone learning problems and the support she received with this is amazing. The teachers are all loving, caring, kind and compassionate. Your concerns are addressed and handled professionally and promptly. The teachers communicate wonderfully and accordingly. Thank you Fulmar Rd for all the love and compassion you have given to my daughter.
