Carmel high school proved again its caliber with several seniors going to Ivy leagues in fall 2023. Some seniors got admitted to multiple Ivys like Harvard, Yale and Princeton. Carmel school has regained its reputation of producing well rounded and highly competitive students, highly recommend this school district for all parents.

Went to CHS in 2009-2013. Overall it’s a great school with tons of nostalgia, but like any high school it comes with its fair-share of junk to deal with. Teachers and Staff were my absolute favorite but the kids in the school can be rough at times. It’s important to try to find you’re niche and people within it, because you will find friends worth keeping and they’ll be your back bone. Been with my ha friends for over 10 years now.

Great school with great teachers who only focus on your kids development and prepare them for college

Terrible. The students are entitled rich kids who do little more than exert their will on anyone they don't like. Got mocked online and had stuff stolen just because I wasn't popular.

Poor experience overall, was bullied for most of my years at Carmel High School, tried to handle it but the staff were to no avail. Bullying is a major problem at Carmel High School and its only getting worse as the years go by.

Overall the extracurriculars and the courses offered in the school are average. I moved to the school district my sophomore year from a school in westchester New York. The problem is the culture and the way students and teachers treat each other. The school has a white majority that is extremely racist and sexist, and they treat anyone that tries to tell them to stop and be respectful as a lesser. In addition there has been many times that teachers have targeted students in inappropriate ways. The teachers many times have called students stupid, a waste of time, and many other things a teacher should never tell an individual they should me motivating. Because of teachers like this the majority of students are unmotivated and could care less about their futures. I strongly advise no one to enter this school district unless you want your child to become sexist, racist, homophobic, and worst of all unmotivated.

I have had four children go through the Carmel Central School District and have nothing but good things to say. I truly believe the current administration has the children's best interests at heart and they are very supportive of the students. The opportunities for participation in the varied sports programs, an award winning music program and advanced academic programs such as the science research program are outstanding. There is clearly ample reason why Carmel High School has again listed by Newsweek Magazine as one of America’s Best High Schools.

Carmel High school is a hodgepodge of renovations that made this building into a confused maze with no road appeal. The faculty consist of uninspiring teachers and poor guidance. Over the years was a frustrating experience with wrong grades and lost assignments...your kids will have to make copies/duplicates and keep records of all their work and grades. Example would be a test score of 98 and the teacher will post a 60 on the report card or handing in an essay and it disappears...we were shocked with the discrepancies on their end. My oldest child will graduate with about 25 AP credits for college but it had nothing to do with inspiring teachers, as a matter of fact they complained that her schedule was too intense. She was also in science research and won regional awards for her work and the teacher still gave her low class work grades...This teacher does have some kind of mental issue and other parents tried to have her removed and failed because of the her tenure, the teacher boasted about this fact. This school caters to below average students. If your child has potential this school will only reduce it...unless you make this a second job. Move to Westchester NY instead :)
