My daughter is having the best experience at Seven Arrows. She came in as a shy but curious Kindergartener and has blossomed into a confident, quick-witted risk taker. She loves performing in the festivals and I am honestly blown away by the level of Math she is doing in second grade. The community is very warm and welcoming and I've made amazing friends with other parents. Highly recommend.

I have had three children go through Seven Arrows (two are still there), and they have all had an incredible experience. The staff and teachers really care about each student. My children love learning, reading, and the arts. They are 'seen' at this school, and they know that they are an integral part of the community. I am so grateful that we ran into this small gem of a school. The festivals and community events are unlike any other in any other school in the US. As a bonus, the outbound admissions process is seamless; the top admin guide the parents and the vast majority of graduates get into their top middle school choice!

This school has been a great fit for our family values and academic desires. They focus on character, creativity, academics and values. They don’t have the prettiest campus or fancy uniforms - all the energy is put into substantive learning. I was also bowled over by the community at this school. They parents are low key (even if they are wealthy) and are focused much more on the kids experience versus the superficial stuff.

Seven Arrows is an absolute gem in the Palisades. Every day we all want to go to school! It is joyful,, academic, cultured, global and has a huge heart and focus on education. They say every aspect of the education is supported by proven research to be the best of the best, and I know this is true. Kids flourish, skip to school, speak passionately and with conviction, look parents in the eyes and amaze us with passion and thirst for learning. How lucky are we to have stumbled onto such a fantastic education. As a parent, there is no better elementary experience with involvement, friendships and community. Your children will be lucky to have the Seven Arrows experience. I know we sure feel that way.

This school is magic. Everything they do is well-thought out and interdisciplinary in its approach. They create a love of learning in the children and the students are happy.

I never post online, but felt the importance of doing so as we had such a bad experience at this school for two children and I hope to spare others the same grief. The school is really a co-op, despite its being the most expensive elementary school on the west side (it is in fact unclear where the money goes and there is little transparency). This means parents do much of the work and see themselves as stake-holders who should be able to determine many aspects of the school that frankly exceed their knowledge or competence. As they shoulder the bulk of the work to run the school, set up and pay for festivals, the library, etc., they come to believe that they can and should control issues including re-admission, curriculum, and staffing, among others. As there is only one class per grade, if the dynamic isn't working, kids are scapegoated and forced out of school altogether. We saw this happen so many times. It is a sick and dangerous culture with everyone holding on and hoping that they will not be next.

We love this school. We have alot of friends in other schools (private and charter) and we are forever grateful of the incredibly rich, wellrounded, and whole child approach to learning. We love that the school embraces new research about brain science and makes an attempt to be nimble and try things out. The school is very new age and runs more like a start up with a fresh lense on education. My kid is thriving, feels safe, skips into school every day and LOVES science, math and art! Even better, everyone knows his name.

I'm not one to post online on a message board, but we so love the school. We love everything about our experience at Seven Arrows. With three different children, this is the school where each of our children have flourished. Whether your child is gifted, middle of the road, sporty or whatever, for us it was the best decision we could have made. It is hard to put this school in a simple box to describe its qualities. It is academic as proven by the test scores and excellent placement statistics. It is progressive in that it feels nurturing rich with culture, arts and music. Some people think it is a school for only gifted children because the test results and placements are so strong (it is not, they just achieve great results taking your child as he or she is...) When you unwrap the curriculum, you will find it is all with a purpose and fueled/supported by proven brain research. Icing on the cake is the community created by the school -unpretentious, supportive, lovely people who are welcoming, interesting and inclusive - you will leave the school with life long friendships as a parent. Back to our kids - they are passionate learners, inspired and prepared. They have wonderful habits instilled at at early age and are challenged every step of the way to break through to new heights in learning. They are confident public speakers and always look forward to going to school. Being a one class per grade school, the kids and parents know everyone which makes living in Los Angeles a smaller place - it is a lovely community. The community embraces you and your children, so many opportunities to socialize and get to know absolutely everyone at the school - it is truly icing on the cake. Over time, the school has constantly elevated its game and impressed us. When students graduate, they have such a strong sense of self - they know who they are and are confident. In addition to being strong public speakers, they are academically prepared for the next chapter. They are creative, ethical, passionate and respectful. They are prepared. When we were looking at the school, a family at our preschool said "Seven Arrows has heart" - they were there and loved everything about the school which is why we looked at it in the first instance. I get it now. They care about your child as much as you do. Seven Arrows, you have our heart.

They say they are a best-practice school and they DELIVER. The program is cutting-edge and evolves. They are nimble and collaborative. My son is seen for who he is. He is pushed in areas where he needs to be challenged and celebrated for his strengths. The integration of fine art, public speaking, Spanish, STEAM, and environmental activism is incredible. They teach the 3R's and you get so much more. It's truly been the best experience socially and academically for my kid.

If you are considering working here, I highly caution you. Unless you are one of the select elite that is favored, life is very challenging as a teacher here. Your professionalism will be constantly questioned, and you will be told to leave your best practices behind. It's hard to be an effective, engaged, and passionate teacher when admin continually dictates policies that promote otherwise.

Top notch. Seven Arrows is a unique educational experience that places a very high value on well rounded students. Academics are top notch with an amazing STEAM program, and incredible music program that fosters performance based learning. Small by design, only 20 children per grade, the school churns out excellence. Placement is off the charts, with over 90% of kids end up in their first choice school. A hidden gem in the Palisades, Seven Arrows is one of a kind, global education experience for children.

One of the best decisions we ever made was to transfer our son into SAE. The teachers are wonderful, engaged and caring; the curriculum is interesting and global; the other parents foster a sense of community and connection. As a transfer family we were very much made to feel at home and part of the SAE family.

Both our children love this school; they skip in every morning and the community feels like an extension of our family. The school is intimate and nurturing, and at the same time full of tradition, arts, and challenging academics.

We moved here from Brentwood School where the education was cookie cutter. This school brought out the spark in each of my three children!

The school has exceeded our expectations on so many fronts. Academically, Seven Arrows knocked it out of the park for our children who are extremely different. The differentiated learning challenged our extremely bright oldest and ensured our youngest was never bored at school. We watched from year to year the progression made, academic strides and fact that our children were happy and joyful going to school each day. With the weekly assemblies full of public speaking opportunities, we watched our children grow confidence, becoming capable of speaking to large crowds without hesitation. Rich with arts and music, we feel like the school hit everything we were looking for culturally and academically. When we applied out in sixth grade, we literally could go where we wanted to go - we had our choice of schools and, like most of the parents, were able to get into our first choice. Seven Arrows is a gem, hidden in the Palisades. From a parent perspective, there is no better experience on the Westside. The parents are warm, inviting, not pretentious and lovely. Parents that want to be involved absolutely can be involved, they are drawn and embraced. This is a community like no other we have found. In a City like Los Angeles, we feel so lucky to have found this absolutely beautiful school that has exceeded everything we hoped and dreamed for our children.

We have two children attending SAE and both are thriving. The beauty of this school is that they teach to each individual child and while our kids couldn't be more unique from one another, they are both reaping the benefits of the SAE philosophy. Darren, the Dean of School, understands and connects with each student for who they are. My children are excited to go to school each day and look forward to all the wonderful experiences they have waiting for them.

The leadership skills our daughter has gained over the past 5 years at SAE has been incredible. She recently joined me at the City of Malibu to speak to the City Council and she stood in front of a room filled with over 100 people and confidently spoke about her experience at her school and the beach clean-ups she partook in. This ability she has to speak in front of this many adults in such a serious setting was thanks to the weekly assembly at school. There is nothing more I could dream of for my daughter's education.

Our family was at Seven Arrows for two years. It was a miserable experience for all of us. The director of this school is ill informed, capricious and often times just plain hurtful. If you don't fit into her narrow definition of what one of "her students" should look like - she will make your experience horrendous. And if your child is bullied - don't look to her for a fair and kind resolution. Indeed, she is more likely to perpetuate your son or daughter's suffering. Many, many families have had this experience. I don't know the statistics but I do know that few make it from K to 6th. Students, faculty and staff see through the charades and move on at alarming rates. The whole experience is very unstable and nerve wracking - one minute it's "no computers" and the next minute they're heavy into computer use. You never know what mood you'll find the director in from day to day. You're better off at any of the local public schools. Don't waste your money on this joke of a school.
