I don’t know why I’m even writing this but this school has been both a life saver and the opposite. Redeemer helps me a lot with God but not so much the students. For example when there’s a problem in middle school with some of the kids, you can’t get away from it even if you wanted to bc it’s so small. Disabilities is also a pretty big problem here…But overall I think this is a good school, it’s the kids who mess it up… and also I am leaving this year but it’s not just bc of what I said.

I regret to share my deeply disappointing experience with Redeemer Christian Academy, specifically pertaining to the Spanish and Technology department. Unfortunately, my encounters with the teacher in charge of these subjects have been nothing short of distressing.First and foremost, the Spanish teacher's approach to education is far from conducive to a positive learning environment. Their teaching methods lack innovation, creativity, and engagement. Instead of fostering a love for the language, the teacher's uninspiring and dull lessons have left me disinterested and unmotivated. It's disheartening to witness a lack of passion for the subject, as it undoubtedly impacts the students' overall learning experience. Moreover, the atmosphere in the technology class is equally disconcerting. The teacher's behavior towards students has been nothing short of abusive. There have been instances where students have been belittled and subjected to demeaning remarks, creating an uncomfortable and unsafe environment. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also detrimental to the emotional well-being of the students. It is disconcerting to see Redeemer Christian Academy employing individuals who not only fail to inspire students but also engage in harmful and inappropriate behavior. The school's commitment to providing a nurturing and enriching educational experience seems to be compromised in these instances. I sincerely hope that the school administration takes immediate and effective action to address these concerns and create a more positive and supportive learning environment for its students.

Redeemer is an excellent school. The kids are actually learning opposed to the LAUSD curriculum where it seems that they learned little to nothing. The staff is incredibly welcoming and always goes out of their way. My kid is always excited to go to school at Redeemer and loves it. I would highly recommend it as not only will your child receive a great education and strong Biblical foundations but they will also have teachers who truly care about them and their personal growth.

Redeemer has been an amazing school for my 8 year old son, and I look forward to sending my 2 year old there when it's time! We've experience Redeemer to be a supportive and nurturing environment that emphasizes a good balance of academics and socialization. We have met many wonderful kids and parents here, as well! We moved our son here for kindergarten in the Fall of 2021. My son has some attention difficulties that emerged in the 1st grade. I was able to talk with the principal and teacher about ways they could support my son with his learning based off of recommendations given to us by a child specialist. We came up with a plan collaboratively, with a plan to touch base intermittently as the year progressed. My son has grown so much academically, spiritually, and developmentally at this school. All the teachers I encounter here are kind and caring, and feel like family. Every teacher has been so receptive to feedback, and they really hold to having an open door policy with parents. I have always been able to express my concerns and have my questions answered. In addition, they are currently putting a lot of investment into improving the school facilities and programs. They have remodeled large areas of the school and implemented electronic programs to create more seamless adminisitrative processes. I really enjoy attending all of the school functions so I get to meet other parents and see the teachers in a different setting. They have a fall festival, Christmas concert, Easter concert, amongst other things. In summary, I have been so happy with my son at Redeemer, and I trust the people who are caring for my child, which is so crucial.

Do NOT go to this school. So many reasons to list why you shouldn’t come here.More than welcome to message me directly and I will go through real experiences we had during our time here. We were WAY too long. Took us a while to learn our lesson but let our error be your advice. Do NOT come here.

Redeemer is a huge disappointment to my family. When the kindergarten teacher and principal were fired this year (2014/2015), the school tanked. They were fired because the school has financial issues (enrollment is low) and to prevent from closing their doors, they fired staff, trying to save money. The current kindergarten teacher is like a drill sergeant and doesn't really understand how to work with young children. She would do better at a high school, the military or a juvenile detention center. From the moment you walk through the doors, everything is outdated and books are so used and old, they now look like shredded papers. This school will never admit fault, always pointing the finger at parents, which has resulted in us simply leaving. Working together should be the goal. Unfortunately, it's not. Most parents have already found new schools to attend in the Fall. Redeemer won't have a complete head count until school starts in September. Thank God we got into another school and won't be left wondering.

Redeemer is a family place. Redeemer's foundation is God and kindness. Every teacher has been at Redeemer. It feels great to walk into school year after year and see familiar faces. Not a lot of turn over. One of my children was fortunate enough to have Mrs Gray and she is an absolute gem. I am sorry the previous parent had such a poor experience with her. She requires excellence and our children can give that. I applaud Mrs Gray for sticking to her expectations and not changing as times change. Yes the school could used some maintenance but I would rather money be funneled into programming .As a family we enjoy the family feel of all the events. Full disclosure: Cons It would be nice to have a phone system so teachers can leave phone messages for parents I would like to see more technology used on a daily basis Carpool line gets backed up

Redeemer is an administrative disappointment. Since the pastor of the church replaced the former principal, unprofessionalism has become the norm. One of many examples, I emailed my child s teacher about a concern that I had. My child came home and told me that the principal/pastor made a comment to a school employee, in front of my child about how he had received hate mail. There was nothing hateful in my comments to the teacher, and to conveniently make the comment right in front of my child is very sad and ungodly, and resembles bullying. If you are a parent who advocates for your child, be prepared to hear a lot of excuses and defensiveness. Redeemer is never wrong. Oh, as for Godly values, the comment made by the principal/pastor about my email to a teacher speaks volumes about how the school has been running since the beloved, former principal left.

When you hear that Redeemer is a hidden gem, it's so true. How could a school this special be so under the radar?! Perhaps we are lucky that it isn't overrun with 40 kids per class. It's one of the only schools you will find where EVERYONE knows each other, if not by name then by face at least; parents included. Kids from the smallest to the tallest happily greet each other in the hallways. You may see an alum coming to pick up their sibling and chatting with the teachers. One of my most important requirement of a school is that it have that feeling of "family" and Redeemer more than encompasses that value. The kids my children hang out with are kids I LIKE and TRUST. They aren't fast and grown before their time. These kids are grateful, humble, hardworking, dedicated, HONEST, NICE, SMART, KIND). WONDERFUL SCHOOL!

I have been a parent at Redeemer Elementary for 6 years. I remember the day I walked in and took a tour for my daughter entering Kindergarten. Redeemer is a small school with an incredibly large heart. The warmth and caring of each of the staff is beyond measure. Each staff member from Mr. Ruben who takes care of the cleaning and maintenance, to each of the Grade teachers, to Mrs. Carey, who looks after every single soul at Redeemer, you can tell it is more than a job to them, it is their calling. The teachers and staff work together to benefit the children and ensure they grow in their faith as well as academically. I am blessed to have my second child in her 2nd year with Redeemer and I know that under this school s guidance she will continue to blossom into the beautiful child God and I want her to be.

We have had all FOUR of our children not only enjoy Redeemer School but look back on it as the most special time of their lives. While we value the breadth of options of public schools, private schools, and home-schooling, after 13 years we believe that Redeemer carries in its very DNA, a unique combination of Academic Discipline that helps every student become the student they need to be to succeed in the years to come Natural respect in which respect for teachers and fellow students is not so much a battle of authority but rather a way of life that serves everyone. Genuine spirituality where kids actually experience God s love for them and the whole world .with all the fun that such a reality should bring Organic diversity in which all races are so naturally friends they will never feel natural about life being any other way. Community care in which a child knows they belong at the deepest part of their being Grateful Parents who truly want others to be as blessed

After having two boys attend Redeemer since Summer 2010 and having experienced every teacher TK-5th, I feel confident in saying that Redeemer can surpass the needs of a variety of families and learners for so many reasons that cannot be captured in words. There is a sound academic curriculum in line with State standards in addition to annual standardized testing. But what you feel and appreciate is the small school community in which the humble, accessible, responsive, accommodating, spirited, and energetic staff and teachers embrace every family and child and appreciate each child for who s/he is. My boys don t like to leave school, begging to stay in afterschool care. And my children aren t the only ones who don t want to leave the school, as you routinely encounter Redeemer alumni and/or their parents on campus and at Redeemer events. The children are celebrated, and their confidence is bolstered through platforms to showcase their talents and abilities. The children feel loved and safe at school and create and participate in student-led performances. Redeemer s events and performances are like no other. When Redeemer does something, they do it right!

I truly have been blessed to have my daughter at Redeemer Elementary School! I cannot imagine her establishing and gaining educational roots as young student anywhere else. It is such an awesome testimony how I found out about the school. One night I was looking for a school for my daughter and I came across the Redeemer s website. I thought to myself I wish there was a school in Los Angeles like this . Well I then looked on the website to find out where the school was located and it said LOS ANGELES! I was pleasantly surprised! The next morning my mom and I were at the front doors of the school and my daughter has been enrolled there ever since. The quality education provided, the attention and genuine love and care that every teacher and faculty member has for the students is invaluable. I highly recommend Redeemer Elementary School!

I was referred to Redeemer during my pregnancy of my now 7 year son who is in the 2nd grade. A bible believing, God focused school equals excellent academics, enriched children who are loving, kind and overall will make a huge difference in our society when they grow up well beyond Redeemer. This school is filled with heart felt and generous teachers, warm & organized administration, and a daycare staff that is bar-none the best! I am so happy that we are apart of the Redeemer family!

I wish I could give this school 10 stars. I dreamed of a good education that is Christ centered in the middle of CA. I grew up in the midwest and I didn't know if in LA I could find people with the same values of excellent academics and lots of moral leadership plus uneding love. What Kindergarden teacher takes a kid to disneyland during summer break just to give the mom a hand on a day I was overwhelmed? That is what Redeemer is like..it's family. I think my daugther is being challenged in all the right areas but also guided to make good decisions from a biblical point of view. Her class has 11 kids and there is not a "click" feel to the school in any way. I could go on for pages but all I can say is if you're looking for an education that is a diamond in the rough..try this school. You won't be sorry.

Enrollment at RBE has dropped dramatically this year. Shortly after school started, the principal and others were let go, "due to financial reasons." I think there is a lot more to this than meets the eye. Our family did not return this year due to bullying in the current 6th grade class. This behavior went unchecked the entire 5th grade year, even after LAPD visited the school. I had hoped my child would graduate from RBE, but it was not meant to be. Don't be fooled by the "Christian banner," a lot of the staff publicly ridicule the students and embarrass them. I didn't get a "What Would Jesus Do?" feel at the school last year, and from what I hear, since the passing of the beloved Mrs. Ridgeway, the sixth grade has loss its academic vigor, due to the immaturity of the current 6th grade teacher. If you are considering RBE take a very close look, and see if you can find a current family to speak to you candidly. Also, academically, be prepared to supplement. I think RBE was a gem... many years ago.

I'm a Nana to one of the most wonderful Redeemer Elementary School Students, A-III. This school is a perfect fit for him. The Common Core Curriculum is used at Reedemer to ensure my grandson gets the best education possible. The environment is a well balanced one and imagine a people friendly school. This iis is what I've observed a s a Nana to A-III, his daily experience is ...arrive at school, welcomed, enter his classroom into the well educated arms if a teacher who cares about your child, during school loved by all staff, even in the yard safety is first there, the students are well behaved...can you imagine? After school care... The Best...the school grounds are well kept, everything is always in working order... No work orders to put in...and Mrs. Carey, what an absolute Diamond... Just a wonderful school Administrator, and guess what she's always smiling. Do you know of another school such as... Redeemer Elemenrary School. Too good to be true? Why nor visit and experience how a school should be. School perfection! With Nana, for A-III, 4th

This school is AWESOME!! A loving, caring environment for my children and for our family. This school is safe for kids to be individuals, and supportive to develop age appropriate behaviors. This little secret is the jewel of west LA. And my kids are learning how to learn, how to perform and work to their potential and beyond.

This school is a best kept secret. However, what is keeping it from receiving 5 stars is the academics 4th-6th grade need to be stepped severely up. This issue does need to be addressed as I have had to supplement for Reading and Math Elsewhere to ensure my child is up to snuff.
