We moved here due to relocation for to complete my education for UCLA. I was skeptical about LA school district being new to the area. But I was beyond impressed and felt so the welcome at Clover .My daughter was doing state testing at average of 2/3 .Within just one year at clover her state average increase to 4/5. She ended up going into the gifted magnet program we did through LAUSD Choices, at Palms middle school . The transition was smooth and my kiddo knew plenty of Clover kids from at the start of 6th grade .The best of Clover is their cultural night and the kids get to showcase their culture as well as learn and experience cultures from their fellow classmates.Mrs. Kaufman is awesome . Incredibly gifted and passionate about teaching . At Clover most of the teachers have been there for long and embrace their careers. They demonstrate it through the care they provide the students and how effective their teaching methods are .Lastly , the STAR (after school program) is amazing ! My kiddo didn’t want to even come home sometimes because she wanted to stay at the program with her pals. They have great interactive and fun filled learning activities all the time. Overall the kids at Clover are kind and sweet .Very embracing of one another and a tight knit group .

I parented three children who attended this school for at least part of elementary from 2009 to 2022. We were so lucky to experience Clover. The teachers are dedicated and supportive with few exceptions. The students are cared for and engaged. The staff is involved. The STAR after school program is great, and the coach that one of my children had at Beyond the Bell when not in STAR for a short period of time went above and beyond expectations. As my older children went through middle school and high school, they told me what an advantage they had from STAR. The Booster Club works really hard to provide experiences and community. Because UCLA family housing is nearby, there are so many international students. It was a wonderful experience to meet families from all over the world. In our experience, most families were education-focused. And during our time there, it was twice a Blue Ribbon school, meaning that the focus is not just on the highest-achieving kids at the school. There is a lot of focus on moving EVERYONE forward. It is such a lovely and special place.

Clover feels like a small community within a big city. The teachers are caring and motivate students. The parents are involved and care about their kids’ education. We love having our kid go to school here!

We love Clover. My child is a 5th grader and we've been here since kindergarten. All of our teachers have been smart and kind and have really worked to reach out to the kids. Four out of the six teachers that my child has had tie with her amazing preschool teacher as "the best teacher ever" -- so that's an amazing hit rate. The academics are rigorous, with the right mix of traditional and progressive (for me, that leans a bit towards the traditional, but with enough fun and hands-on stuff to make it interesting). The booster club works really hard to raise money for the extra stuff like art, computer, and music. The art teacher is phenomenal. We had a wonderful veteran principal for the first 4 years. We struggled for one year with a new (terrible) principal, but the after the community members activated to try to help him, they activated to try to get him to move on, which he did. Our new principal, Ms. Mulder, is lovely and working really hard to keep our school safe and functional for everyone. I also have to mention the afterschool program. We work full time and our child has been enrolled at STAR since kindergarten. Mr. Isaac, who runs STAR at Clover, works incredibly hard to make the program engaging, productive, and fun for the kids. My child hates being picked up before 6, because she doesn't want to miss any STAR time, a connection for which I am truly grateful. We had the choice between Overland (more progressive) and Clover (more traditional) and Clover has been an ideal fit for us. One small example: Overland doesn't allow sweets of any kind. Kids bring croissants or pencils to celebrate their birthdays with their classes. Clover still allows the small joy of a birthday cupcake (or did so before COVID) and kids get to do Valentines and Halloween with candy treats. It seems so small, but it also makes Clover feel like a normal school, which I love. Also, lots of International students, which sometimes means that friends leave after a year or two (when their parents finish at UCLA), but also means that our kids are organically exposed to kids from around the world. And Clover really celebrates its diversity in terms of its celebrations and events. International night has Bollywood dancing and Henna tattoos as well as delicious handmade pupusas and sushi. It's amazing. Lots of good things to say, but basically, Clover feels like a really strong, normal, diverse school -- which is a hard thing to find in Los Angeles.

We love being part of the Clover community! The teachers have been amazing during these difficult times, going above and beyond to provide the best possible experience for the students. Our child has shown so much growth academically and socially and has been very happy here.

Love this school. Clover Avenue is a neighborhood school that provides the kind of experiences that foster academic excellence, emotional well being, and social awareness and sensitivity. My grandson has grown so much in this warm, accepting and child centered environment. We are thrilled and so grateful to be a part of this educational community.

Our boys LOVE this school – from the teachers to the students to the challenging curriculum. Our experience at Clover has been exceptional. The teachers are truly invested in our children’s education and their growth as learners. Adjustments are made as needed to meet the needs of the student. Small class sizes and leveled learning have enabled my children to gain confidence in their learning abilities. We love and appreciate the teachers, staff and parents who work endlessly to make Clover a special place for all children to learn and thrive.

There teachers at Clover Avenue have the biggest hearts. They care for their students and go above and beyond. It is a two-time winner of the National Blue Ribbon! My oldest son is in 3rd grade and my younger son is in kindergarten. My boys love going to school and excited to learn. The community is very diverse, with families from all around the world. Our school inspires an appreciation and celebration of all the different culture. Clover is a special place to be.

Clover Ave is an amazing school. The principal is hard working. The teachers care dearly for their students. These teachers work around the clock and put any extra resources they have to making this community a great place for children to grow.

We are happy to finally be out of this school. Just in time since the previous principal who is known for excusing bullying and racism from teachers and staff came back. Our kid was treated poorly for being hispanic, the teacher even mispronounced their last name during the entire year and would yell at them during class. A group of families of color had a running chat documenting all the microaggressions and incidents. Many of us have taken our children somewhere else. We were hoping that the new principal, a Latino, would change things but he was also pushed out of the school and left as soon as he had a chance. I wonder why! The past year online made us parents hear how our kids were being treated, can't imagine what goes on in the actual classroom. The only good couple of teachers that were worth it have retired. Take your children of color somewhere else where they will actually be respected.

Horrible! I tell anyone that ask me not to even consider this school if they want true diversity. This school doesn’t care about it. What they say and what you see regarding diversity will be vastly different if you are a person of color. Be prepared.

Best elementary school in LAUSD! National blue ribbon school, twice in recent 7 year! Cannot think of another public school could has such achievement in LAUSD and other neighboring school districts.

Both of my children have had nothing but positive experiences at Clover. Reading is the schools #1 priority when it comes to homework. Every teacher and administrator have been wonderful and dedicated to every student achieving their highest potential.

Could not be more pleased with the education at Clover. Excellent teachers and administration. We only wish it went through high school! My oldest daughter who is now in middle school misses her Clover community and my younger daughter is still having a wonderful experience. High academic standards and strong sense of community.

We were truly blessed to have our daughter attend Clover Ave Elementary from Kinder through 5th. It was the most enriching opportunity of not just her life, but the lives of her parents as well. Having been a part of the Clover community for 6 years was truly incredible from start to finish (and ooh how we wish there was no finish). We all daydream and talk about how we wished that Clover taught through college because it's that darn good. Our child is a 7th grader now and our whole family still thinks of Clover every single day. Cherished and missed deeply!!

Outstanding school lead by a committed and fantastic principal. Educators and parents take note: THIS is what’s possible with a minuscule LAUSD school budget. The gold standard of public schools in Los Angeles. We permitted in from a neighboring school and the difference is amazing. Kudos to the teachers and parents of Clover Ave. who work so hard, without any petty cliques or drama, for our children!

Excellent. We have both our kids at Clover. As parents we believe our children have received and continue to receive a fabulous education. Our kids love learning and Clover creates a wonderful, inclusive and family environment.
