I agree with the comment below. Webster does not have the best reputation, but it is a hidden gem that is rapidly improving. The supervision is strong and attentive. I recommend this school. It also offers French Dual Immersion and other great electives. I knew my student would do better in a smaller school, and I am happy with my choice compared to the "better schools." Tour the school and ask other parents. You will not be disappointed.

This is our "neighborhood school" that very few neighborhood kids go to. We permitted into the "much better" Palms Middle School only to find daily fights, bullying, and a general lack of attention from staff. Webster has 1/3 the enrollment of Palms (and less than half of Mark Twain) so the staff can be more attentive. The principal, Ms Bell, as well as the Assistant Principals and Dean are standing in front of the gates in the morning to welcome kids, reminding parents of happenings at the school, and building relationships with the students and parents. My kid, who never feels safe, feels safe there. Teachers have been in constant communication and reply to emails and texts (yes, they give out their cell phone numbers) and schoology is constantly updated so we always know what is going on. While the test scores do not show it, the opportunity to learn is absolutely there. Even by LAUSD standards this school is a bit dated. I'm guessing it is because enrollment is low and LAUSD funds are spent on... other priorities. I bought into the neighborhoods opinion of Webster "not being an option". We didn't even consider it when considering middle schools. We got caught up in the WISH, GALA, CWC, charter school application process then permitting to ANY other school close by and didn't give Webster a fair shot. I'm now kicking myself for not sending my kid here from the start of middle school. If you live in the neighborhood do yourself and your child a favor and give Webster genuine consideration. Don't take my word for it, stop by at pick up time and chat up a few parents. I have no doubt you'll hear the same from them.

My child is entering the final and third year here as an 8th grader. What a lovely school!! I wish middle school wasn’t going by so fast. The teachers here are fully committed- they love to engage and serve- and they are easy to reach. In fact they proactively reach out, to help us all be better parents in supporting our students the right way. The principal, Mr. Diaz, is a star. I’d give him 5 stars right here if I could, too!! He has attracted new families to the school and made even more resources available to the community. At this school, rules are made and properly honored. Students wear modified uniforms, which I love, to prevent this whole “materialistic culture competition”. The facilities are great- clean and well manicured. Take a tour. Give this school a chance. It’s amazing. It’s diverse. It’s gif heart. Our family loves Webster.

Class sizes are small. The campus is well maintained. Teachers are engaged and consistently communicate with parents. The music program is awesome. There are plenty of opportunities for enrichment and career development. Academics subjects are taught creatively and keep the student engaged. My child is in his second year at this school and is thriving.

I pulled my kids out of private school to come to Webster. The campus is clean and serene. I started volunteering in the Parent Center to make sure they would be ok in the new environment, but it turned out that it was great for me, too. I made friends with other parents and I'm here so often that my kids' friends started calling me mom. The faculty is great, I like them all personally. I've never seen a fight here. The music department is awesome. I wish everyone would give Webster a fair chance. I'm so grateful to have spent my kids' middle school years here. This is a great community to be a part of.

I am a proud 6th grade Webster teacher! I feel extremely supported by my students, parents, administration, faculty, and staff. There is definitely something special about the people who work at Webster! I have just finished the 2016 - 2017 school year with two amazing groups of students! I am so proud of their efforts and accomplishment! I am also very proud of our work in creating our new STEAM Magnet Center officially opening in the fall. We have an amazing visual and performing arts program! Students have their very own ipad for which they are responsible. Technology is at the forefront of instruction. We are preparing our students for college and beyond. Our campus is safe, green, and clean! Students are happy at Webster and that is what is most important!

I came to this school looking for a safe place and good environment for my daughter. Teens years have trial and tribulations, we certainly did. I found a second home where a dedicated professional team gave me a welcoming environment. My daughter is happy with her experience here, i had every opportunity to keep in touch and involved with her academics, the counselor was pleasant and professional, the college coach instilled the college life here, clerks were very nice. The administrators work hard and are always moving forwards with improvement plans. The dean of discipline and security are always on the job. The campus provides a beautiful peaceful learning setting for education. Webster will only go up!

I Enjoyed my experience at Webster Jr Hi. Of course since my class was the first to attend this school, it was a new experience for everybody. Left after the 1955 semester so expect things may have changed a trifle.

I'm a 6th grader at Daniel Webster, I don't like the art class because they just put up a picture and not teaching you how to draw, annoying bad kids, needs cleaner bathrooms, I see cocharoces in the area, needs better teacher, and students at Daniel Webster like when I got punch by a 8th grader because he doesn't like people bothering him, but when you bother him hem he gets mad and punches yo in the face.

I am an 8th grader at webster middle school, and i love it. (almost) all the teachers are amazing, and I've learned so much that i have gone up a year ahead in math while I have been here. We have so many clubs to join, and it is so fun. I really recommend Webster to anyone looking for a middle school.

We had many choices for a middle school and I'm glad we chose Webster. It's a pretty, well-maintained, safe campus and I always felt welcome there when I showed up to help out. Class sizes are much smaller than at other middle schools and my kids had close relationships with several outstanding teachers. My two graduated in 2012 but we still visit and still interact with some of the faculty. We miss Webster!
