My two children both attend Glassell Park Elementary and have had great experiences so far. I have older children that attended a different LAUSD elementary school that families would do anything they could to attend. I can honestly say that so far our experience at Glassell Park is on par with that very desirable school. To me the key in a LAUSD school is not test scores, but teachers and staff. We have had exceptional teachers and staff at Glassell Park. You can send your child to most high performing elementary school in the district and still end up with a dud of a teacher. The school also works incredibly hard at setting up enriching field trips. This year my kids went on at least 5 trips. Most schools are lucky if they get one or two trips a year. If you live relatively close to the school I would 100 percent recommend that you tour it and give it a chance. We’re very glad we did.

The school is more than adequate for the population it serves.

My son has been at this school for 2 years. He started in ETK and I have seen his growth and success. Starting off with the teachers, you can tell that they enjoy teaching, and they listen to the parents concerns, and they provide feedback. With office staff, very welcoming, which, as a parent is important. And with administration, the principal is very hands-on, she makes herself available, and is always present to greet the students and parents. The principal, listens to your concerns, and you can tell her she is very empathetic to ensuring, not only the education of the children, but their safety. As a parent, attending meetings is very crucial, an important, as you can be made aware, decisions, or new implementations that the school district is making. However, as a parent for me, the most important was that my child has an IEP and he is receiving services.

This school rocks! Please start enrolling now! The teachers here are genuine and really care about there students. The faculty and staff are all like family. The principal at this school Ms Pelayo is amazing and is willing to listen to parents and students. Your child will grow only if you as a parent do your part! Enroll now you will not regret it!!!

Best school decision ever for my girls! The office staff is very welcoming, the teachers are very friendly, communicative , and knowledgeable! My personal standout Teachers have been in no particular order of preference are Ms. Hashima, Ms. Cruz, Ms. Franco, and Ms. Perez. Can't wait to met new talented staff. I have one child with an IEP and have to say it's also been a great experience with the team.

At first, I was skeptical about this school from the reviews I would read on Facebook and online. I decided to give it a try my daughter attended 5th grade, and 2 years later I enrolled my boys in 3,4,5th grade and they loved it there. The best teachers and principal I could have asked for. My boys improved so much in that school and all the staff at Glassell park had so much patience with them and they have improved so much thanks to everyone at Glassell Park. I highly recommend that school.

I don't have knowledge of the rest of the teachers - so no comment either way. But our Pre-K teacher, Ms. Hosaka has been amazing! The principal is also very involved with the students and families. She know me each time I call.

What ever happened to Mr. Tagawa and Mr. Orlowski? These guys were real heroes that boys could look up to!! Mr. Tagawa was a really hard worker and actually visited every sixth grader's home! Mr. Orlowski was a true gentleman and taught kids academics as well as modeling lessons in character by his exemplary conduct!! I hope they come back to Glassell Park some day!!!!!!!

Please note that the negative comment below was written by the school's coordinator, not by a parent:)

Although this school has had three different principals in the last four years, the teachers have stayed dedicated and caring. My daughter attended Glassell Park and had great teachers. I know that the school community really works together to create a positive learning environment.
