We have had a great experience at Aragon. The principal Ms. Vela has worked hard to bring arts programming and other opportunities to the school. My daughter was weekly music and art classes, as well as classes taught by working artists—as much programming as some of the nearby arts magnets. Her teachers are kind and experienced, and really support students’ social emotional development. We’ve been welcomed into the school community, where there is a group of parents working hard to bring more opportunities and community support to campus. Aragon seems to have a negative reputation that has carried over from previous decades, and many of the neighborhood’s newer residents overlook it in favor of the area’s “better” schools. I’d really encourage families to actually come tour the school and meet the principal. My daughter is thriving at Aragon and we are so happy are sending her to school in the community where we live.

My experience here has been just going down hill drastically. Definitely looking into another school for my kids. Over the favoritism, and lack of communication. Unless you're favored then you get an instant reply. 1000% its been the worse experience. This school is great for parents/Guardians who dont have any children with any issues. Once you start trying to get help for your child, even trying to get the bully (whose always favored) to stop. Then you become the problem. Over all the front desk, nurse, a FEW administrative staff and teachers ive had experience with so far are absolutely amazing. They are the ones who keep me there. Its just gotten to a point from seeing the privilege get passes, and ONLY the privilege not being ignored. And for those parents who dont see whats going on. Its must be amazing, cause it is disgusting to see. But maybe if i donated or gave something of value. Then MAYBE id hear back, get questions answered, or get a blind eye turned to me too. But apparently its only to those who are white, and privilege. (I wrote up a whole other review explaining in more detail of these issues, but it doesnt let me copy and paste.)If i can delete my last review i absolutely would. That was just made to help the school increase from a 4/10.

At Aragon, administration, educators, and staff is welcoming. The school provides a sense of belonging by allowing students to express themselves through school activities, starting with academics, where teachers offer fun educational lessons that keep the student engaged. Along with that, students have the opportunity to express themselves through dance, music, and art. Throughout the school year, students have monthly activities like Spirit Week, seasonal events, and parent conferences, which promote student and parent involvement. According to my child, Aragon is a “cool” and fun place to make friends.

My child has had a wonderful experience at Aragon elementary school (K-5th grades). Teachers encourage student to love learning. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Ms Vela, Principal, has brought wonderful things to the school. I encourage parents to bring their kids to come to this school to learn.

This school is definitely more worried about attendance, VS the child's needs l, and support in class. If they put the same energy in the child's support, and needs. That they do with just making sure the child shows up more parents like myself would be happier.

I think this school should make it better but other parents willing to help out with the schools.

My daughter came here for pre k and 2nd grade, it was a good experience for her. Her teachers taught her pretty well, though some teachers do not have great communication with parents. Overall, Aragon is a good school.

Do not come to this school! The last principal was removed by LAUSD due to probable misconduct/lewd conduct and now everybody dislikes the new interim principal, including parents, teachers, and staff. This new principal appears ignorant (she might as well have an AA in education), unhelpful, and demeaning to the staff and community (hot tempered and stares everybody down).
