Our daughter 1st attended a different preschool and had a terrible experience. We were nervous about her attending a new school but very quickly we realized we'd made the right choice. The teachers are very sweet, caring, nurturing, and supportive. Despite her negative experience elsewhere she quickly adjusted and loved Devonshire Montessori. Every day upon pick up the teachers give me an update on her day. Ms. Altagracia, Ms. Carmen, Ms. Silvia, and Ms. Corina are all wonderful. They're always very helpful and willing to share with me tips on how to reinforce the day's lessons at home. The school is clean and organized. They offer the students different types of activities to keep them engaged. The activities vary from art, music/singing, math, and reading-related, both indoor and outdoor. At Christmas time they had a beautiful pageant that allowed them to showcase what they'd been practicing. My daughter thrived there and was very sad to leave her friends, teachers, and school behind. She's even asked about visiting them now that she's at a new school and wants to call them to leave them messages because she loves them. :)My daughter had Spanish and dance classes every week. She loves her teachers and has formed beautiful friendships. If she weren't going to an elementary school we'd keep her there longer.

My Son attended this school In April of 2012 at this time he was 28 months. He was only at this school for 1 1/2 months. One day I get a call from the teacher informing me that during outside play my son was scratched by a little girl. They are not sure what happened prior to the hitting due to none of the 3 teachers outside observed the entire situation. Teacher urged me to pick him up. I arrived to see my sons face scratched on both side of his face, nose and upper lip. Scratches had some blood in it and this was not mentioned on the phone. He was literally attacked. I spoke with all the teachers and director and it turned out that this little girl had punched yes punched a little boy few months prior. The solution they offered was that she would be moved to a 4 year old class due to her being above average. A few weeks prior on a rainy day during drop off the kids watched television. That is not a Montessori way and I should of followed by gut then! I filed complain with Child Care Licensing Office and included pictures of my son's face and the school was cited for several reasons including lack of supervision. My son never went back after being attacked.
