The middle school leaves a lot to be desired. It’s definitely a sink or swim mentality. My son points out that it is clear who the favorites are. He is scared to raise his hand and ask a question because he knows he is not one of the preferred students. I’m not sure why the bar is set so low for kids thriving in the middle school even if they are not perfect. There are definitely many inequities.

The preschool is amazing, however, to get into the kindergarten the child is tested. The anxiety of this test for the children is overwhelming, and when you ask what is on test so you can help your child, they refuse to tell you. The school does not even provide the information to the preschool. It is very disheartening to put this kind of pressure on such young kids, and then when the child does not pass and a parent ask why they will not show you the actual test. If they are willing to hide the test from the parents, what else are they hiding?

Simply the best. The school makes you feel at home. My son just loves this school and all the staff. My son has learned so much from this school and the staff is great at keeping parents up to date and involved in their children’s education.

The current principle does NOT have the kids best interest in mind at all! The academics have increasingly gotten worse over the years. A's are just handed out to students wither they worked very hard or not at all on an assignment. Teachers are hit and miss with the exception of the current PE teacher whom is the best the school has had since I have been sending my kids here the past 7 years. The environment here is definitely based on "who you are" and how your child will be treated. Years ago the students were very respectful to adults as well as peers here but, that respect is gone now as I have witnessed students yelling at teachers here now and not caring who is around because they don't feel any threat of getting into trouble anymore. Several of the parents are dissatisfied in the direction this school has been going lately. This school board needs to get on board and figure out what direction they want this school to go in before it's to late.

St. Peter Lutheran School is an amazing school. They are WASC certified and the curriculum is Core Knowledge based. The teaching staff is experienced and very easy to work with. In addition to a solid elementary & middle school education, the school has an excellent sports and music program. There is before and after school care and "homework club" available. The middle school students have a retreat in the fall to Jenness Park. My student looks forward to it every year. I think St. Peter is one of the best places in Lodi to send your children to get a top notch Christian and academic education.

My child attended this school for two years, during the first year we were very pleased. This year 2012-13 has not been the same quality of education. There were two teachers that left last year. In the middle school level, I do not feel that the new teachers are qualified for their positions. They are still working on their own education and were more interested in such than the students education. During a meeting regarding my child, one teacher was emailing her instructor, another was checking her child's work at another school via laptop. We were asked to leave the school along with several other families whose children were struggling and needed some extra help. In being asked to leave, we were asked to tell new schools that we chose to pull the student out. There is the feeling that more is going on at this school than was explained in asking students to leave, there appeared to be an underlying agenda. Students whose families make high contributions to the school do not have to follow the same rules or GPA standards as those who don't.

My children love this school. As another reviewer stated it is their second home. While the teaching staff is starting to have quite a turnover due to retiremen, all of the staff that I have come into contact with are very caring individuals who are concerned with the development of the whole child. Ms. Hu has been successful in getting WASC accreditation.
