The school seemed great at first, they talk about the learning and experiences the students will gain by attending. Then they give you a teacher who doesn’t help, doesn’t care to help, and treats the kids like a paycheck. She’s very rude and doesn’t take the time to teach. I don’t feel like they should hire just anybody, they should actually find some that care. The teacher Kristen Smith and Rio Valley Charter in Sacramento, clearly does not care at all for her students!

Flexible program which is great for kids who need a brake from the pressure of traditional school. My granddaughter graduates from jr high after 2 years at Rio Valley and will return to traditional education now. Its given her the space she needed to be ready to move forward! Her teacher Nonie was very patient and full of encouraging words!

Rio Valley has been the answer to our prayers for our child with ADD who cannot function well in a classroom environment. She has totally blossomed under the patience and encouragement of her teacher at Rio Valley. She has progressed from failing her subjects to A's and a B, and she once again feels good about herself...AND she loves her teacher and her fellow students. Home schooling works well for her, as she sometimes needs extra time to "get" something, plus she has interaction at least once each week with her fellow students in the enrichment classes offered to all. Additionally, math and other subject tutoring is always available. My older son had the same ADD problems and graduated last year from Rio Valley with honors! I highly recommend Rio Valley to everyone!

This is a great school. The teachers are great, the home study program works well for kids who can get there work done on their own with out needing someone to micromanage them. It allows the students to work at their own pace. There are on-site classes and off-site ROP class that the students can attend.

Staff was so nice! My daughter loves this school. She really struggled at Lodi High and the teachers were so mean! The teachers here really worked together and my daughter passed her CAHSEE and graduated on time!!! We love Rio Valley!!
