If ever there was a school that should be closed, boarded up and never opened again, it's Beckman. They quite literally do not care about the success of the students and attendance only matters for the sake of funding. I was quite literally told that if my kids are absent for any reason, make sure I call in and excuse it so the school can still get paid for that student for the day. They offer zero assistance for children who've called behind and despite asking for help, they don't even tell you about the few resources that are available. Kids that come from this school will never succeed unless the parent pulls 95% of the weight AND volunteers in the classroom daily, emails the teacher daily and becomes an overall annoyance to them. Save your energy and move to a different attendance area or apply for an intradistrict transfer.

I am a parent of a very special and wonderful second grader by the name of Kaitlyn Victoria Garrison...My name is Melinda Burchard-Costa. Kaitlyn is in the second grade in Ms. Tankersly classroom and she absolutely loves attending Beckman...at the present moment I wish I could be more active in her classroom but due to circumstantial issues..I am not allowed, but in due time I am planning to be a more active parent in the classroom for the time being ...god bless and I wish everyone at Beckman a great school year...Happy Halloween and safe one too..and keep up the great work. This school is great! I have nothing but good to say about the staff and teacher's. The principle is very nice and approachable. The teachers that I have dealt with are very down to earth, patient and very educated on how to handle difficult students. My oldest son attended this school and now my youngest son is there. They both love Beckman as do I.
