my son has some differences to navigate and the staff at this school does a great job of not only navigating those but also building his self esteem in the process. I could not be more proud to be a parent of a child at this school

This is an excellent school with caring teachers, an engaged administration, better funding than most, and generally a very involved base of parents. I have two children that attend school here and have been nothing but pleased with their experiences up to this point.

I cannot say that Bowman is a poor school, I don't think that, exactly, but as the parent of a transfer student, I was unimpressed. There are so many people that seem to think that Lebanon City Schools are just so wonderful that I was disappointed when there was a significant lack of communication from the teacher. I would send notes that were never seen and the only way to get any kind of response was via email. It was disheartening to witness the decline of my child's excitement for school (compared to her previous school) and to discover that her classmates were "being mean" to her while her teacher seemed oblivious. And with 27 students in her classroom, without the benefit of an aide, it seems unreasonable that her teacher should have seen and heard the bullying. This may be a fine school. It's could be a good school. But it will never meet it's potential with a nearly 30:1 ratio. Lebanon needs to focus on the quality of it's education rather than the appearance of the educational buildings.

Bowman is a great school to attend! Within a two weeks at school, they recognized my daughter's struggle to read and started her immediately in reading club to boost her exposure to reading and 1:1 work with a teacher. She caught up in just one quarter! Also, her math skills are great so she is now starting an advanced program. They tailor the education to fit the child! Communication between the teacher and school to the parents is great. The PTO and parent volunteers are very involved. Overall a great primary public school!
