Best choice we ever made! Our son was attending a private school (where we paid a large "tuition") but still had to take him an hour a day over to MTE for extra help. Private school was really dropping the ball in many ways, including knowing my childs name and or me, even though I was there all the time helping out. It sounds silly, but it does make you question if your kids okay when the majority do not even know him. I noticed that nearly everyone knew him at MTE, kids and staff, people who never really came into significant contact with him, knew his name, stopped and talked to me about him or just to say hi. 5 hours a week at MTE and it felt more like home, a true safe place compared to the private school that has plenty of resources but needed to send him to a whole other school for adequate help with speech and reading. Well covid happened and school ended March of 1st grade, I had already been questioning where he fit best and I saw this as a sign it was time to go. The private school really sealed the deal while figuring out Covid and virtual schooling, I ran very quickly to MTE who welcomed us with open arms. We did virtual for all of second grade and it was a great experience and I have learned since that it was 100% because of the MTE Principal Mrs. Bond and all the staff. They are amazing and truly want to be there, the support, love and sense of belonging this place offers is a dream. Nothing is perfect anywhere but on everything I swear this place is as close as it gets! I have 3 kids all very spaced apart and all attended different types of schools public and private on both sides of the state line. So I speak from experience, if I could go back I would have them all attend MTE.

What a gift this school is. Our son has been there several years and we can't say enough good things. The teachers are dedicated and welcoming and inspire learning. The resources are fantastic. The principal is outstanding and her leadership makes the school amazing. It is a thriving community. Not a single complaint! Wish we could stay through middle school.

I think if you are sorry to graduate from a school, it says it all. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the excellent principle and the Mission Trail teachers and staff. My only regret is that we did not go to this school sooner. We were at a parochial school that did not meet our needs. Mission Trail welcomed us with open arms. The teachers were the best teachers any of my children have ever had. They were so interested in our child! So supportive and helpful! I almost had to get used to the caring attitude. The principal was so friendly and caring and greeted my child by name. She did not have favorites and she was so approachable for children and adults alike. The kindness and emphasis on virtues at this school shows! I cannot tell you what a different environment it was for my child and me. Leaving the parochial school system was the hardest decision we have ever made - but I feel like a fool for not attending this school with the rest of our children! The education here is excellent. Mission Trail is on a mission to help your child reach their full potential and encourage the kind of virtues we need in society. I thank God for this school!

Simply put, MTE is the best elementary school in the KC area. My kids have been to private and public alike. If you live in the MTE's boundaries, dont bother sending your kids to private schools. Its a waste of your money if you have MTE to choose from. In fact, Id pay more for my kids to go to MTE than to Barstow. Love the principal. She is honest, hard-working, innovative, brilliant, loves kids (treats them like her own), caring, dedicated, and one of a kind. If all of the U.S. had principals like her, our kids and our country's future would be in a lot better state.
