Very unwelcoming. My child was bullied from day one. Dark, dingy, depressing place with poor education.

10/10 this is one of the best schools I've ever attended. Bullying is extremely low and everyone is supportive and kind. This school also does well to prepare students for wherever their future might take them.

I am in total agreement with this parent. How many athletes end up in professional sports as a career beyond HS? I am guessing less than 0.1%. Yet the students that want to MAKE SOMETHING of their lives through education- are unimportant to this school district. They receive little to NO support from the district. There have been some great teachers- dedicated teachers...the district could care less-and have instead made these instructors feel they have no worth. This school is disintegrating before our eyes. The students that have made SO much effort to succeed have been pushed aside - sports wins. Education loses. Disgusting. Glad my child has only a year to go. So very sad that the kids coming up are going to pay the price for the ineptitude of this district. BRUSD- you have thrown our children's future into the gutter. WHY ISN'T THE STATE STEPPING IN TO MAKE THIS RIGHT? OOOPS-- I forgot. This is Arizona. AZ believes in nothing

This school is terrible! For the past three years they have been cutting programs and extracurricular classes. They push to have children on IEP's openly stating the increase in funding they in turn receive for that child. They have had a different academic schedule, number of classes, number of credits available to be earned and varying requirements for graduation for each of the last 3 academic years. The earliest they release their school calendar is May for the following year. Last year they did not release it until late June classes started mid-July. The school will answer anybody's questions and give information on any staff member or student over the phone or in person. There is no attempt to protect privacy. The textbooks are outdated. Library hours are restricted, by appointment only typically booked months in advance. The school is in dire financial straits.

Blue Ridge is honestly a terrible school. The teachers and staff can be helpful occasionally, but on the whole they're pretty disappointing. There's a ridiculous emphasis on sports as opposed to education. The administration definitely seems more focused on athletes than college-bound students, even if they pretend to be all for 'excellence in education.' The facilities are almost laughably dilapidated and most textbooks are several decades old. The only hope this school has of improving is a serious change in perspective and a drastic change in policy.

The teachers here are rather supportive when it comes to achieving goals. But so many things are over looked. Drugs, bullying, disruptive behavior, you name it. Athletes are given specialized treatment; a slap on the wrist is the worst punishment they receive. The bullying here may not be as severe as some schools in Phoenix, but it still does exist. On a higher note, many of the students here are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are respectful, kind, and responsible. As is the school staff. They'll help you in almost any situation.
