I have two kids at LFE and they've had excellent teachers each year (Kindergarten - 5th). They also have loved the TLC program there. I love the school diversity and that if kids need extra help, there are so many resources to support them. There are lots of opportunities for parents to be involved and my kids are scoring in top of nation for their grade level because teaching is excellent.

LFE is an amazing school with has a great sense of community. The teachers, staff, and principal truly care for the students. The PTO is also very involved and they support many amazing events and programs for the students.

Great school with a staff that truly cares. Many parents are involved, and the school is going to have a full-day kindergarten starting 2019-2020.

Overall, this is a pretty good schools. It could use improvement in some areas. Parents are fairly active in the school and it shows. I appreciate the teachers that do care and support all their students! I just wish that was every teacher.

As our children transferred in and our family has found a home in this neighborhood school. LFE has been welcoming to our kids and family. Active envolvement of families makes the BIGGEST difference. LFE has FABULOUS teachers and a strong administration staff. LOVE!!

My sons first year here. (Kindergarten) Mrs.green has been so kind and great , despite having multiple subs we are all so grateful she took over.Lake forest elementary has so many events going on so families can participate as well. Movie night, carnival , luau coming up. Very nice school

This is our first year here.My daughter just stared 5th grade and she love's her teach Mrs.Mac Neven...And she says she the best teacher she's ever had. I did noticed an improvement in alot of things.

LFE is a GREAT school! When our dearly loved teacher went out on medical leave, the administration worked diligently to find the best possible replacement. The first long-term sub, despite qualification, did not have the passion needed to inspire these Kindergarteners. The principal listened to parent concerns, observed and ultimately made a replacement that was better suited for everyone. This could have been a disaster had the leadership not taken a proactive approach!

Wonderful so far. The principal communicates with parents weekly. The students have weekly assemblies for the entire school which builds a sense of community.

We moved to the area from out of state at the end of last year and sadly had to move to a different district this year. We loved, loved, loved Mrs. Fox! Our child loved school, but this was the best experience ever. We do not like the district and school we ended up in, so we are definitely looking for a way to move back to Lake Forest so we can rejoin the school. This school is a breath of fresh air. When you have been in horrible schools, you will definitely understand why this school is a gem and all of the teachers including the principal are very involved. We want our other child to go here, too! All of the parents we encountered were very nice and it was a great space for learning. Our child flourished with Mrs. Fox and it does make a difference for a kid who is so hyper to have a teacher that can work with him to help him be successful. I can't say enough without feeling like I am gushing. This is definitely a case where the rating does not match reality. This is a 10 rated school in my book.

I don't understand why Great Schools only rated this as a 7. I guess automated scoring based on paper scores and numbers aren't at all accurate. Lake Forest Elementary is a wonderful community of students, teachers, and parents that strive to develop and grow children not just academically, but in other important aspects of education such as social skills, community involvement, culture, and much more. My only wish was that they put a little more time towards PE. Other than that, this school is a great place for children, and will make them well prepared for middle school and high school.

Great school in a great community in a great upscale Lake Forest neighborhood. The school had some struggles a couple years ago during a change in the principal, but Dr. Norman has been able to turn things around and the school is thriving again. I've had 2 kids graduate from here, and they are top students now in middle school and high school, because they received a strong academic foundation at LFE. Now my youngest just started at LFE and I was so surprised to see algebra methods already being taught in 1st grade. LFE has certainly been raising the bar to keep up with the rest of the country and even exceed the standard. Go dolphins!

LFE has the BEST teachers around, and the new principal has made many changes that were necessary. I love the weekly flag salutes, the new recycling program that student council students help with, and the fact that technology is a priority at LFE (there are SmartBoards in every classroom, an updated computer lab and Google ChromeBooks). Their after-school TLC program is very well-run with students' varied needs kept in mind and very kind and caring leaders. Plus, the school has a very diverse student body, and the main classroom building is very uniquely built with windows from the inside hallways and colorful student work up on the walls. The librarian is super sweet too and knows the children. Go LFE!

Both of my children attend Lake Forest Elementary and are receiving a great education. My youngest is in Mrs. Fox and VT's class and I could not be happier. They have been able to get my shy youngster out of her shell and inspire confidence in her that I only dreamed of. They are dream teachers and I only wish my oldest child would have been able to experience them in first grade as well. The new principal has exceeded my expectations as well and is making changes in the school that are necessary but difficult. I respect her and know that my kids are in good hands.
