Caution to all parents, this school treats parents as if they are criminals, they have no respect for parents at all, they absolutely have no idea how to care for special needs children! Parents know their children and are the key decision makers for their children, the staff and principal in this school treat parents in such an awful manner! Beware parents, this may not be a place you want to send your child to.

Honestly, this school is pretty decent, but one thing I don't like is the nurses. One time, I went to the nurse because I felt like I was going to throw up. A gray-haired lady was somewhat rude to me and told me to go back to class; this incident occurred during the 6th period. After that, I returned to class. However, in the 7th period, I felt worse and went back to the nurse. The same gray-haired lady seemed annoyed and a little mad that I came back. I tried telling her that I was definitely going to throw up, but she dismissed that and rudely told me to go back to class, so I did. In the 8th period, I actually threw up. If that lady had let me go home earlier, I wouldn't have thrown up in school. Now, there have been many instances where the nurses have treated other people the same way, being rude and dismissive to my friends and my sibling. What I'm saying is that they need to hire better nurses.

Union Vale middle school has a wonderful staff. The teachers are dedicated and go above and beyond for their students.

The education itself is fine, but this school doesn't care about the student individual needs. Many people I knew went down to guidance to ask to change their schedule or report a problem, but guidance told them unless they were being bullied that it probably wasn't a big deal. Oh, but even if it was bullying, no one cared. I'm a former student and remember people yelling obnoxiously on the buses, being shoved down the stairs by a group of boys, and having hate symbols drawn on tests handed back to me by other kids. If you care about your child's mental health and wellbeing, do NOT send them here. However, if your priorities lie only in a superficial number on a website, do what you like I guess.

Positive experience overall. I will miss Mr. Wood and his introductions at concerts and programs. You can see that he really cares about the kids - he knows them by name. Saying a lot in a large middle school

The bullies, and their parent's run the school. From the Superintendent on down. There appears to different curriculum for different students, and although you would think that it should be the same for all, its not. There is a scewing of the grades to make themselves look better. Some students are even allowed to take tests over to ensure the make the honor roll. And a huge push for the students not to take the state tests.

Administration not in tune with special needs. Health office personnel make "mistakes" and administration does not work with parents to give a child time to adjust in their school

This school is... ok. the biggest problem is the Assistant principals. my advice is don't get in trouble. i got sent to the office in 7th grade and it is like a dictatorship. you dont get to tell your side of the story and the asst. principals dont care about your side either.
