Wonderful small school with incredible staff! Both of my chick seen attended Vassar and they both had great experiences that have them their needed foundations and prepared them for more intense work at the higher grade levels.

My daughter attended Vassar rd. from k-3. I must say Mrs Licari grade 2 was outstanding. I also think Mrs. macCarron is a great asset to the school for she is the one who makes the parents feel welcome. We did not have a particularly bad experience but we also did not have a very good experience. I do think the school has potential if it was run with support and leadership. My daughter is now at Kinry the sister school and it is so much better. From the first day of school the staff has been very helpful, supportive and kind. We really like kinry just wish vassar was better. We are looking to move from the district so our younger daughter does not have to attend vassar rd.

Vassar Rd Elem is an AWESOME school and its sister school Kinry Rd is awesome, too. Even though Wapp Central often makes the news b/c of its crazy board of ed, what really matters is that the kids are getting an excellent education at Vassar and Kinry. A handful of teachers at Vassar are nationally accredited, very prestigious. But that's not to discredit those who are not--ALL excellent, caring. Many/most offer extra help before and after school for struggling students. My child received speech and OT and that support staff is terrific. As a parent, you can expect to be welcomed at the school and receive regular communication about your child's progress, not just report card time. Vassar Rd (and Kinry) are smaller sized elementary schools in the Wapp School District and there is a very close, community feel. The principal knows all the kids by name and high fives them as they get to school in the morning. There is above average parent involvement that makes this school so great. Many teachers have parent helpers in the classroom everyday as extra support. Having a school that is K-3 lets the little kids stay little without all the stuff that comes along as kids get older. Love it!

My daughter went to this school 2 years ago - and she had the best experience. Care given by teachers is very good and there are really great exceptional teachers like Mr.Nicola who train the kids for modern day real world need !!
